POULTRY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The basic idea for making this project is to provide a platform where users could do all of their manual work automatically. A poultry business that deals in purchasing & selling of chickens at wholesale and retail. Currently there is no software to automate this business. They have been using Microsoft Excel for a long time but the files are getting larger and the systems are getting slower.
They are in need of an online web Management system to maintain their records in a proper manner that can be accessible anytime anywhere online.
This is divided into 3 phases:
• Purchasing.
• Wholesale selling.
• Retail.
We will make a Web-based Application for this and the technology we will be using in this project is “Microsoft ASP.NET MVC”. This results in easy data handling and reporting for the user.
PURCHASING:
There are multiple suppliers/farmers from whom we purchase chickens on a daily basis. Suppliers/Farmers send us the invoice daily with all the details including (Crates, Number of Chickens, Location, Vehicle number, Weight, Rate, Amount, etc). Rate gets updated on daily basis also known as FARM RATE.
WHOLESALE SELLING:
After purchasing, they have some customers/shops to whom they daily sell the chickens wholesale. Every customer or shop owner has it’s own formula rate on which they sell them. For example (Farm Rate + 6). Farm rate is on which they purchase the chicken and the +6 is their profit margin fixed for that particular shop. (Farm Rate + 6 = Selling Price). They sell the chicken to the shop at this sale price having variations daily depending on farm rate.
RETAIL SELLING:
After purchasing, they have some daily Customers/Shops/Pakwan Centres/Restaurants to whom they sell the chicken, meat, boneless, tikka, leg, chest, etc in retail. Every Customers/Shops/Pakwan Centres/Restaurants has it’s own formula rate for each item on which they sell them. Just like the above (Farm Rate + 10 x 1.65). Farm rate is on which they purchase the chicken. That 10 x 1.65 is fixed for any particular shop. (Farm Rate + 10 x 1.65 = Sell Price). They sell the chickens to the Customers/Shops/Pakwan Centres/Restaurants at this sell price. Every item has it’s own formula for pricing.
The objective of our project is to digitise/computerise the manual work that is currently being done by the people who are involved in the poultry business and give them an online platform where they can easily manage the records more efficiently and timely that can be accessible from anywhere anytime. Users will have access to complete statistics and reporting tools. To provide them ease using technology is our objective.
Designing:
Adobe XD – for design and prototyping of an entire project.
Planning:
Microsoft Project - (For customised planning using GANTT chart)
Frontend:
HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, BOOTSTRAP for the frontend.
Backend:
ASP.NET MVC C# will be used for the backend.
Database:
Microsoft SQL SERVER will be used as the database.
In the domain of poultry, there is no such work done previously. People who are involved in this business are either using Microsoft Excel or manually writing the data in the registers (Khata Book) with complex calculations and limited space. Maintaining the records of multiple clients and managing a large amount of data over many years is not easy and this causes data inconsistency or data loss.We are giving them an online platform where they can access their records from anywhere more efficiently and manage the datta properly.
Final Delivery will be a Web application made with HTML, CSS & ASP.NET MVC Technology.
