Project Area of Specialization Software EngineeringProject SummaryOur project is POINT TRACKING APPLICATION. We will use android platform to make a mobile application. We will develop an app which would communicate efficiently between student and point driver and cater all the problems of students. We have seen the issues of point drivers that they don’t know which student would get absent tomorrow and they had to go to each and every stop whether the student is absent or present it is very exhausting and a headache for point driver. So to solve the problem of point driver we are providing an attendance system in our app each student would place their attendance a day before going to university and our app would show the driver at which stops he had to go. It save his time and gives him comfort. Secondly, we have seen and personally experienced the issues faced by students when they don’t know when would point reach their stop and how much is point away from their stop because of this many times point left the students which is a great loss for the students so to solve this issue we would provide location of the point driver in our app by using the google map sdk tools which basic functions of google map api. It would provide a lot of ease to students. Lastly, in rainy days point driver doesn’t know which route would be easy for him where he would find less traffic so our app would also suggest the best route which is also an feature of google map/google direction api.
Project ObjectivesTo solve the problem of students and point drivers. Providing them ease and comfort through our efficient application. It would cater their all issues related to point whether the students miss their point because they can’t track the location or the driver gets late due to traffic because he doesn’t know the best route of the day or waste of time for the driver by going to absentees students stops.
Project Implementation MethodAs our project is an distributed system in which the admin is controlling the basic and administrational operations through the website, so an web app is first design to give the access to the admin and also give authorithy to make changes on to the database. With the web development side by side database is also under development procedure. As far the database is concerned this application is going to run on firebase database to provide every second access to the end users because the result expected by the users of this application are going to be dependent on the live time. After the admin and the database side, we will be developing and interactive mobile application for the drivers and the passengers. All of this work is done by keeping in mind incremental development model.

Moreover this application will also provide a better and easy way of managing the point system in the universites as it requires less handling and most of the work is done through the application.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe web application is built on python Django platform for the admin to access and perform basic operation. The database used in this project is Firebase. Passenger and drivers will be having mobile application made on android studio. Software development method used in this project is incremental where as the documents are formed using the waterfall model.
