We aim to develop a library of gameified applications that engage students into participating in learning activities more actively. By stimulating multiple sensory channels, our applications tend to motivate students and help them retain information more quickly, all while making it fun!
Project ObjectivesThe project aims to use augmented reality technology to gamify educational content for children who have difficulty grasping concepts. The project aims to develop an interactive platform which provides students with rich AR enabled educational content, task based exercises, and mini games to enhance learning.
Project Implementation MethodThe project is implemented in Unity3D using Vuforia packages. The application is developed in C# for android, ios and windows platform. Special table-top in-class setup is designed for using Augmented Reality applications with projector allowing students to use it handsfree.
Benefits of the ProjectThe most obvious benefit of augmented reality in education is that it changes the way that students interact with their world and in turn; the way they learn their subject content. Multi-modal approach towards education stimulates multiple senses allowing students to grasp concepts easily, retain information, engage them in class-room and the gamification aspect adds fun and keeps students motivated towards studying.
