Project Summary

ROBOTICS is one of the fastest emerging technology which is helpful in many fields like industry armed forces, medical science etc. Nursing robot is a social technology   that concept is to help patients physically move around or perform simple tasks like taking vital signs or delivering medicine. Some serve as interfaces for doctors to use over distances to communicate with patients.

With the advent of an aging society, the demand for human-interactive robots that can help on-site caregivers by playing a part in nursing humans, particularly the elderly, is increasing. For this purpose, many robots have been proposed, for example, robots for feeding people who are paralyzed.

1. mental commitment robots dedicated for mental healing 
2. smart wheelchairs
3. There are also wearing-type robots that can support a caregiver's or patient's motion.

Project Objectives

The main idea is to develop a robotics system, in such way to assist patients with simple services, such as delivering medicine and food to the patient, reminding patient to take medicine, and is able to follow a human nurse or his commands to carry items. In this regard following are the main objectives:

• To design a robotic platform with simple load carrying ability.
• To implement a human following strategy and taking commands.
• To create a critical medicine alert system for patient health monitoring and medicine/food delivery.

Project Implementation Method

 Implementation of technology in health care has become a global trend. The society modernization has led to the increasing development of technology and information systems. Nurses in everyday work encounter with the application of communications and information technologies. The implementation of modern technology in nursing increases nurses efficiency, but it is also changing the way of care for patients. Implementation of modern technology in nursing is the result of interactions between technical skills, culture and social acceptance in the working environment.

Benefits of the Project

Benefits of this Project :

• Robot nurse should support and follow human nurse to focus on the important work of caring for patients.
• It will need to carry medicine and food for the patient, specially where a infectious disease/virus will affect health safety of humans .
• It should be capable of looking after the health of patient and give medicine to patients on time.
