Project Title
Noninvasive Blood Glucose Monitoring System
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject Summaryour project is about blood glucose monitoring system through near infrared rays and without taking blood from the body.
Project Objectives- To avoid the pricking pain.
- To allow patient to check sugar level all the time
- No strips is required to check the sugar level.
- This method is Cheaper than the current methods.
Software implementation:
- Proteus software will use for circuit testing.
- Microcontroller unit will be coded in assembly language or in C language.
Hardware Implementation:
- NIR sensor will be used to sense the amount of glucose in blood.
- Then NIR sensor will be connected to signal conditioning.
- Then signal conditioning will be connected to MCU microcontroller.
- Then MCU send data to wireless transmitter.
- Data will be obtained and will displayed on LCD.
- Then data will also send wirelessly to mobile phone for storage purpose.
- By using noninvasive method we will be able to test the sugar level without pricking a finger
- Patient can check his sugar level at any time without pain.
- We can check sugar level several times in a day.
- It is cheaper than current method.
- We can easily check our previous record through phone.
- Ashok et. al describes a method for assessment of blood glucose level of diabetic and non-diabetic patients using Trans illuminated laser beam. The laser used here is an atomic gas laser also called a He-Ne laser, operating at a 632.8 nm wavelength [2]. Here a single mode laser was used as a monochromatic light source to eliminate mode interference noise. Making use of this method it was able to monitor blood glucose level of the diabetic patient continuously and noninvasively. The result obtained shows that blood flow is directly proportional to blood glucose level.
