The summary of this project is that we are moving towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). Industrial internet of thing based automation I.O.T function that enables the users to connect industrial parameters with the internet. With the rapid growth of Smart Systems throughout the world, this is our ultimate goal to make smart industries. One of the key features of the smart industry is a real-time monitoring and controlling of the industrial parameter at any remote place in the world. The industry is ready to adopt wireless sensors and actuators to improves their production and quality with security by using the Internet Of Thing (IoT) platform with cloud services.

The theme of the Project

An industrial i.o.t. based automation model should be developing with a standard protocol for monitoring and control parameters in the industry. In Conventional System the Industrial parameters are monitored through Analog Displays. We are using some parameters with various types of sensors such as thermocouple and differential pressure transmitter and connect them with microcontroller and this microcontroller links with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). PLC device should be able to send/receive data to/from cloud storage. Our focus is on the integration of Cloud Connectivity with existing will accomplish in high-quality Industry 4.0.

Need of Design

Our ambitious goal is the give the cloud connectivity to our PLC and isolation of microcontroller from the field devices and design the system to remote access the industrial parameter and control and create the Database for our collected data. The effective use of iot innovative technologies in the industry is ever increasing as it is minimizing the manual effort of employers and increase the efficiency We want to create a hassle-free environment for the industrial data with less human involvement because in the conventional process it is difficult to continuously monitor the industrial parameter.

Project Objectives

Following are the objectives we want to achieve with this project

•             To connect integration of new technology with the existing Industrial Process.

•             To create i.o.t based data logging system for remote monitoring.

•             To make possible real-time monitoring and control of the Industrial Parameters.

•             To Create the Cloud database as the data logger of the industry.

•             To remote access industrial data at any place.

•             To give the graphical representation of industrial parameters with previous data.

Project Implementation Method

Now a day's, almost every controller thing has an Ethernet connection and can be connected to the reliable internet, either directly or via gateway. The industrial parameters likes sensors and actuator to bring the data output and monitor through individual analog display which control through Ethernet. The data can be accessed from one server to another server by using IoT. The measured data can be monitored by the Arduino, where the data output should be displayed. These data should be given to the PLC and the required amount of data can be controlled. This process can be handled automatically with PLC. We should be using Modbus to use with Programmable logic controller PLC to communicate the results to a supervisory computer or PLC. The Modbus master request the data and the device supplying information or Modbus slaves. In a standard Modbus network it has 1 master and up to 247 slaves. The original Modbus interface with RS485 module for communication for logging the data to the network software.

Benefits of the Project

The main benefit of our specific project that it will give us the virtual access to monitor industrial processing and we can make virtual data loggers that can be accessed globally and efficiently generates reports timely using a web server on any remote computer, we could use it along with Industrial SCADA system or we can just use the cloud storage to monitor and control industrial parameter. In this creative way, we can progressively reduce machine cost also reduce the production cost and minimize production losses. By this project progressively increase the product quality, efficient production control, and smart machine optimization also increase the machine attractiveness

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

There are lots of big industries in Pakistan that are until running on the conventional system and using the manual monitoring and controlling of their data in the database, we can expand it to make the virtual database for collecting the data from all the active section from different PLC and combine it on one platform that can be globally accessible.It can be in small scale or on large, we can progressively expand our ambitious project to the large scale to the mega industries. The industrial parameters are taken as the input in the PLC and we are using the Microcontroller to communicate our PLC with the Cloud. Microcontroller and WIFI Module will act as middleware of the PLC and our Cloud Server. Input and Control Signals are all done using the PLC we can use any remote to access our Web server, Dashboard, we can also generate the Control Signal using the Cloud. AS has been noted remote monitoring on PLCs is common to the industrial automation in the plant. However, the factor could be located anywhere in the world.
