Project Summary

Nizam e Ilahi is a social media platform that will be designed by abiding the rules of Shariyah. We will be considering all the unethical influence of social media over Muslim community and our motive is to provide a safe space for Muslims to connect with each other without the fear of coming across unethical things. Along all the negative factor that today’s social media have provided us, islamophobia is a growing one. Our motive is to reduce it while providing a peaceful platform for Muslim community.

Project Objectives

Our objective is to create a social platform which will be according to the guidance of Allah. We aim to provide people an application that they can use without the fear of experiencing something unlawful according to our religion. This application will have proper and authentic knowledge of Islam. People will stay connected according to the teachings of Prophet PBUH. 

Our application is will be based on two different programming paradigms, web development and machine learning. Through development we will create the main application for people to use and through machine learning we will implement all the algorithms that will allow our application to work according to our restrictions.

We will have a complete web application with all CRUD operations. With a sophisticated frontend and backend with REST API’s. Our application will be intelligent by all the machine-learning algorithms. People will be able to use this application to increase their Islamic knowledge and share their thoughts as well. We will be able to create an online community built on Islamic principles. This application will be family friendly without any kind of toxicity. A platform will be established without Islamophobia and any other negativity related to Islam.

Project Implementation Method

This project is dealing with the gap between the internet and Islam specific application. We are providing a platform where users can safely browse the social media without the fear of coming across any unlawful thing according to our religion. Social media is an important part of today’s society but the promotion of hate and non-Islamic culture makes it harder for Muslims to truly connect with each other. We will provide a platform where Muslims can safely connect with each other and share their knowledge of Islam. In current systems it is harder to separate Islamic and unlawful contents with each other. We will make sure to create a safe space for Muslims. There will be a lot of challenges that will be faced during this process and separating all the non-Islamic things from current social media system will not be an easy job. These are the main constrain that we will be working on

• Textual toxicity
• Image toxicity

Textual toxicity will contain:

• Islamophobia
• Hate speech
• Spam Filtering

While image toxicity will contain:

• Violence / Graphic content
• Nudity
• Immodest body exposure
• Pictures of females without hijab

These are the main factor we are trying to remove from the platform. Image toxicity could be in the form of any image such as profile picture or uploaded post. Textual toxicity can be any form of text such as written post, comment, user profile name or text on the image.

There are three main components of our application: Front end, backend and AI models. Frontend will be the client side that will be displayed to the user to perform all the actions and the backend will store all the progress and user data from the application. AI models plays an important role in the application as well since they will be applying all the restrictions that we plan to include in our application.

The sequent of the project will be:

• Front end will send the data to the backend
• Backend will send it to models to verify
• If model verify:
  • Data will be saved
  • And displayed on the front end
• If model not verify
  • Data will be rejected.

Benefits of the Project

These are the objectives we are aiming to achieve,

Web Application:

• A social media platform where people will be able to create a post.
• There will be user authentication for different purpose.
• People will be able to follow each other and react to each other’s post.
• There will be group that can be create and run only by authentic Islamic scholars. (Normal users will be not able to create these group)

Machine Learning:

• Users will not be allowed to share any Qur’anic Verse or Hadith in their news feed other than groups.
• Removal of violent, graphic content and nudity.
• Blurring of any adult male and female picture.
• In case of profile picture (for identification) user will be allowed to post only a picture with only One face. 
• In case of a Female, user will not be allowed to upload any picture not wearing a hijab.
• Removal of toxic factors in both comments and posts.
• There will be a spam filter and a recommender system.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Software System:

  • A platform without Fitnah such as islamophobia will be available.

• • We will be filling up a vacuum between world and Muslim community where Muslims can express themselves in an Islamic environment
  • This application will be able to unite Muslims on one platform
  • Unlawful acts according to Islam will be lessen.
