As students find it quite difficult to wait for their shuttles without knowing the actual location of the shuttle, the reason for the delay of the shuttle, Paying for the shuttle physically and then getting shuttle card from Student facilitation center ; so we want to eradicate this problem completely by designing, prototyping and building a system which tracks the university's shuttles in real time.
NED SHUTTLE TRACKING SYSTEM will solve the transportation problems of the students of NED university of engineering and technology. The system will enable the students to track their shuttle's location in real time so that the students won't miss their shuttle.It will also save the time of students as if the shuttle has passed their location, they'll be notified and will not waste their time in waiting for the shuttle. It will also provide a platform where the students can check updated schedules of the shuttles. Also the students will be able to pay for their shuttle card through online payment method in the application which will eliminate the hassle of going back and forth to the bank and student facility center.
To develop this system, we've used Agile Development Methodology because
• It focuses on the satisfaction of the users instead of emphasizing documentation
• It is an iterative model that involves multiple tests
• Changes in project requirements are easily addressed and work on with little impact on the timeline.
Nowadays, the use of a smartphone is not a new phenomenon among university students. Students spend a lot of time on their mobile phones either for pleasure or learning purposes.
Information sharing and communication have become vital through the use of mobile phones. Thus, the development of this shuttle tracking app will ease the student’s everyday life and also ease their academic activities.

NED SHUTTLE TRACKING SYSTEM will solve the transportation problems of the students of NED university of engineering and technology.
This application is meant to give benefits to the student in terms of providing real-time location of the bus and the estimated arrival time.
The design of the application is planned to be minimal and simplistic as to be more conveying than demanding. The user input is minimal and the app generally works on its own. It does not engage users to a point that it becomes a burden.
Each route on which the point is supposed to travel is mentioned step wise within the application in a way that it is easy for the student to find their nearest one. A detailed route guideline helps with better visualization of distance and time that the ride will take. This will be done by integrating google map’s API.
With an embedded e-card submission of fees by the pupil will be verified. This will eliminate the entire process of getting a photostat and getting it stamped to be shown to the conductor. The entire process will be reduced to online payment. Another thing off the mind of the student!!
NED takes a lot of steps for its students, not all are backed by student’s trust in the system. This will ensure that NED students start trusting its services and more will shift from using private transport to university’s own shuttle service.
Important notifications and decisions that university make about the point services and their timings will be conveyed through the app “notifier” feature
