Mobile robots are usually designed for navigating on a specific terrain, so most of it can move only on smooth surface, rough surface or inclined surface. The main challenge faced while navigating a mobile robot over different terrains is the inability of the robot to adapt to different terrains. We are proposing to develop a mobile robot platform which will be able to move on many types of surface terrains to reach its goal and perform the desired task.
This particular robot is specific due to its ability to move above and stay afloat in water apart from being able to maneuver on different terrains such as smooth surface terrains (like marble and wooden flooring) and outdoor terrains (like roads and pavements) in addition to that, rough or uneven surfaces (like stairs, gravel with large rocks). The bot cycles between these phases on the basis of different sensors, the main being a camera transmitting live feed to a micro-controller or a faraway safe server, which processes the feed with real time image processing to identify the surrounding of the robot and take decisions according to some criteria programmed based on the mission critical task. To add to the efficiency of the robot in identifying its surrounding, the bot will be packed with a GPS module for navigation and transmitting real time location.. In shifting to the water maneuvering phase, the bot is installed with a water level indicator to make the shifting maneuvering phase efficient and safe as to save time and saving battery life.

Technology has emerged as a powerful system to change the world from wealth based economy to knowledge based economy. With the emergence of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and industrial 4.O the whole world is going to shift into new culture paradigm. “The one who will lead the Artificial Intelligence will lead the world” a statement by Chinese president specifies the importance of these technologies. Robots are termed as real AI(Artificial Intelligence) are important to perform intelligently in places which are hazardous, unsafe and difficult for mapping beyond the human capabilities.
Multi terrain robot focuses on maneuvering to those places where humans access is difficult and unsafe, If equipped, it will be able to perform missions such as diffusing bombs, a critical task which causes many losses of precious lives. Monitoring the sewage system is also a task which can be performed by this robot. It can also be used for exploration of unknown places such as robots used in Mars mission, searching for mines, and navigating to hostile environments where robot can bear the anti homo sapiens conditions.
