Project Summary

Movie success prediction predict the result of upcoming movies using previous movie data(dataset) which is composed of 5000 data . This project is useful for the movie maker and the peoples who want to book the online ticket to watch the movie in cinema with their family or with their loved one. We are making a website in which a producer enter the crew data of upcoming movie and  then compare these data with the previous record and show the result that the upcoming movie will be hit or flop.

Project Objectives

In this system we have developed a mathematical model for predicting the success class such as flop, hit, super hit of the movies. For doing this we have to develop a methodology in which the historical data of each component such as actor, actress, director, music that influences the success or failure of a movie is given is due to weight age and then based on multiple thresholds calculated on the basis of descriptive statistics of dataset of each component it is given class flop, hit, super hit label. Admin will add the film crew data. Admin will add movies data of a particular film crew. Admin will add new movie data along with film crew details as well as release date of the new movie.

Project Implementation Method

We train the dataset using python code and overlap this with the c# asp.net webform page then show the redult in the webform that the movie will be hit or flop.

ery year there are hundreds and thousands of movies released in a different genre. Some have
big Hollywood stars and some have new. Sometimes movies with big budget perform badly at box-office and movies with low budget performs exceptionally well. A movie revenue depends on various components such as cast acting in a movie, budget for the making of the movie, film critics review, rating for the movie, release year of the movie, etc. Because of these multiple components there is no formula that helps us to provide analysis for predicting how much revenue a particular movie will be generating. However, by analyzing the revenues generated by previous movies, a model can be built which can help us predict the expected revenue for a particular movie. the producer can easily decide which actor, actress, director, writer, music director and how much marketing budget he spend to get his movie super hit in advance as well as user can easily decide whether to book ticket in advance or not.
