There are around 200+ different currencies used in different countries around the world. The technology of currency recognition aims to search and extract the visible as well as hidden marks on paper currency for efficient classification. Currency Recognition and conversion system is implemented to reduce human power to automatically recognize the amount monetary value of currency and convert it into the other currencies without human supervision. Our main aim is to design an easy but efficient algorithm that would be useful for maximum number of currencies, because all currencies have different security features, making it a tough job to design one algorithm that could be used for recognition of all available currencies. Writing different programs for all is also a tedious job. The aim of the project is to recognize the currencies and its authentication.The basic requirements for an algorithm to be considered as practically implementable are simplicity, less complexity, high speed and efficiency.
Our main aim is to design an easy but efficient device for Money Detection that would be useful for maximum number of currencies. Currencies have different security features, making it a tough job to design one algorithm that could be used for recognition of all available currencies.Our objective to work on this project came from a blind person who don’t recognize the currency as they face quite a lot of difficulty,so we wanted to make a device which would help such people to recognize the Pakistani currency.
Camera/sensor will capture the currency note images. Applying the required operation on that image to detect whether the currency is genuine or fake. If the currency is genuine they recognize the domination value of currency notes.Using speakesr the blind person will hear the results of overall operation.Raspberry pi(3B+) is used as a controller,in which the dimensions of the currency note are stored in it.When the note is placed in front of camera,ultraviolet light will glow on the note checking whether it is fake or real.If the curreny is real it will then deliver output through the speaker.
It is a device that can tell whether currency is fake or real.It will deliver output through speakers which are connected to raspberry pi module.Camera will detect the image and it will read its all dimensions and then it will perform image processing technique to tell the currency of note.
