Mixed Reality App for Gor Khatri (Cultural Heritage Site)
In this work, first, photographic and video data will be collected from the Gor Khatri heritage site. Then a unity project will set up for this research work and an android app called Gor Khatri AR will be developed to serve as a tourism app.
Afterwards, Vuforia’s usage in this work for augmented reality, tracking, detection and the usage of its functions, handles and events will design. This process involved in image data training for recognition. Afterwards, the algorithm of video, audio, images and text usage in augmented reality after detection is will design.
The software output of this work is a client and server solution involving an Android App and a server to host content. This server could be hosted either locally or remotely (which costs data usage for every site visitor individually).
Questionnaire will be prepared for the visitors of Gor Khatri cultural heritage site. Chi square test will be conducted on the data obtained from the questionnaire.
This system is focused on tourism industry having aim to improve the quality, information accessibility and the fun factor of the tourism industry. Adventure tourism industry improves in Pakistan, revenue will be generated and that is the benefit that power project strike delivers to the society. The system and its concept can be monetized to generate for the revenue for the society to improve and build up on the heritage sites and make an accessible to the international tourism industry in Pakistan.
Improvement of tourism industry in Pakistan is one of the objectives of federal and provincial government. We have about 6000 cultural sites which required proper attention to improve of tourism industry. The MR system will have digitized the contents of cultural site and will attract the local and foreigner tourists by providing interactive and informative information of the site.
This concept of having such an app for heritage site attracts the attention of visitors hence contributing positively to the society.
MR study will assists our potential reserarcher to open and explore more research avenue in Paksitan.
The final deliverable product will be an AR Mobile app which will make the Gor-Khatri site interactive and informative.
