Microcontroller Based Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryHybrid power Generation are combinations of two or more energy sources to produce power. By the increase in demand of electricity, renewable sources are more preferable for power generation. Wind and solar energy are becoming popular owing to the abundance, availability and ease of harnessing the energy for electrical power generation. These are renewable sources and presented in the atmosphere and they does not cause any harm to the surrounding. Hybrid system has become increasingly important as a renewable source due to its advantages such as absence of fuel cost, low maintenance requirement. Benefit of hybrid is also to overcome drawbacks like as solar energy is present throughout the day but the solar irradiation levels vary due to sun intensity and unpredictable shadows also in wind energy, it is capable of supplying large amounts of power but its presence is highly unpredictable as it can be here one moment and gone in another. Both are combined into one hybrid power generating system, the drawbacks can be almost negligible.
Project Objectives- Low cost Power Generation.
- Environment Friendly Power Generation.
- Off grid applications.
- easy Maintenance
The Implementation method of this project is as follow:
- Solar panel
- Wind Mill.
- Charge Controller.
- Rectifier
- Microcontroller.
- Battery.
- Inverter.
- Low cost Power Generation.
- Environment Friendly Power Generation.
- Off grid applications.
- Easy Maintenance
Hybrid power Generation generates power using solar cells and wind mill and supply power to any appliance. The generated power is controlled by the charge controller and rectifier for converting AC to DC for store in batteries. There is an inverter which converts DC to AC to Supply for AC appliances.
