Low Cost Antenna Trainer (Transmitter) With Multiple Antennas
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThe main motive behind making this project is that these antenna trainer are very expensive if we bought it from market.Although if we design and assemble these antenna trainers by ourself. It hardly cost us around 1 lakh.which is very cheap as compared to those antenna trainers. We are designing a phase array antenna transmitter on a 5150 MHz frequency. We are also making different types of antennnas with it.
The proposed Transmitter has three different modes.
1) Manual mode.
2) BI(Bearing Information) mode.
3) ADF(Automatic Direction Finder).
We can not use all the frequency bands,so we will use C-band frequency 5150 MHz.Our objective is to design a low cost Advacned antenna transmitter with improved features, which can help students in the laboratory for learning purposes.
we are also making different types of antennas along with it.The different types of antennas that we are making are:
1)Patch Antenna
2)Parabolic Antenna
3)Monopole Antenna
The Antenna Trainer that we are trying to design includes three different modes which user can select by itself . The first mode that user can use is by doing manual working .In manual mode, the user uses the receiver end himself by pushing the push button and sends the signal to receiver manually. The second mode is by sending message through transmitter to receiver, the signal gives all the information to the receiver end, which will be decoded by the receiver and the receiver will process according to that. The third mode that the user can select is ADF(Automatic Direction finder),in which user does not need to do anything, the the work is done by the antenna trainer itself and gives you the desired result. This Antenna Trainer runs on a software for signal processing and for display section. The display section includes the radiation pattern of the signal, frequency and amplitude graph, strength of the signal,3db bandwidth of the signal, gain of the signal and the bearing information of the signal. These all options will be available to the user.
.
| MANUAL MODE AND ITS WORKING : In manual mode, all the work is done at the receiver end,the transmitter side will be only transmitting the waves continuously .A push button will beavailable at the reciever side, from where the user can push the button, which makes the antenna moves to a certain angle by the help of motor. One press of the button will be set to a certain degree i.e if a user press a button one time,it will move 2 or 3 degree by one press.Themovement of the antenna will be controlled by the motor in the receiver end.The bi mode and ADF mode will be off during the manual mode.

Benefits of the Project- Stand alone, Low cost system
- No ancillary equipment required
- Bench-top operation Safe low power output
- Simple, robust stands for antenna mount
- Conveniently packed for inventory control
- More antennas can be added on the users course requirement
- Safe low power output
|
- Power supply — The energy source used to power the device and create the energy for broadcasting
- Electronic oscillator — Generates a wave called the carrier wave where data is imposed and carried through the air
- Modulator — Ads the actual data into the carrier wave by varying some aspect of the carrier wave
- RF amplifier — Increases the power of the signal in order to increase the range where the waves can reach
- Antenna tuner or impedance matching circuit — Matches the impedance of the transmitter to that of the antenna in order for the transfer of power to the antenna to be efficient and prevent a condition called standing waves, where power is reflected from the antenna back to the transmitter, wasting power or damaging it.
