Student safety and security feature are one of the most important considerations that parents have in mind when selecting a school for their kids. For this, they select a school that is good and safe for their kids. This safety concern is not limited to the school campus or in-school hours, but it extends to ensure the safety of the students when they are commuting to school and back. So, parents find it very difficult to search a safe transportation service for their kids and track them anytime they want.  
Technology has become a crucial part of daily human lives today and it assists in almost every scenario, weather you realize it or not. So, in this technological world all safety-conscious parents' lookout for a solution that can search van service online and track their child’s school bus location in real-time, and that’s where a School Bus GPS Tracking System comes in. 
LOCO-MOTION is a van searching and tracking system that helps parents to search the best van service available and track their child in the school van anytime they want. The application provides notification to the user about the boarding, deboarding and other alert messages. Application also provides driver and parents the feature to contact each other.

Project Objectives

1) The application will provide parents a platform where they can search and enroll their children to the school van service.

2) It will help parents to track their children when they are using van service.

3) It will connect parents and drivers.

4)  It will provide drivers a platform to manage and provide their services effectively with ease.

Project Implementation Method

We will use design thinking approach to develop our application.

Analysis:

  • We have analysed the data collected throught interviews and survey.
  • We 
  • We will research on how to make our application user-friendly.

Design:

  • We will design the ERD, and other relevant diagrams before starting the implementation.
  • We will design the prototypes of our application.

Development:

  • We will design and implement the database.
  • We will start the coding and implementation of our application.

Testing:

  • We will test all the components of our application before and after integration.

Deployment & Optimization:

  • Once we’re sure that our application is ready to be released to the public, we’ll deploy it on our public domain.
  • Marketing will also be done before releasing the product so that a large amount of audience can take benefit  from this.

Benefits of the Project

Basically, we are designing and developing two seperate mobile Application for each user (Parent and Driver), which will be beneficial for each user.

Benefits for Parents:

Parents can search van service for their children on a click. They can track their children from anywhere at any time, when their children are using van service. They will be notified about every movement of their children. They will also get alert notifications and can contact driver easily.

Benefits for Drivers:

The driver will now be able to enrol more students to their services as now they can reach to each other on a click. They can now manage and provide the service at an ease.  

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

For the development of our mobile applications, we will use flutter and Fire store Database.

Deliverable 1:

  • Authentication (Login and Signup) for both Parents and Drivers application
  • Maintain and update Profile.
  • Parents can view, add, update and delete their child record.
  • Drivers can view and update their vehicle information.

Deliverable 2:.

  • Parents can search van service for their children
  • Parents can view vehicle information
  • Parents can view, add and remove drivers service for their children
  • Parents will receive boarding, deboarding and other alert notifications.
  • Parents can contact drivers
  • Parents can track their children in the van.
  • Drivers can view, accept and delete parents’ request.
  • Driver can add, update, view and remove their routes record.
  • Driver can view and remove students availing van service.
  • Driver can contact parents.
