Iris based attendance system

Our project is about attendance system, the attendance will be marked on the basis of an iris image taken from camera. To identify a person and mark his attendance we will train our model on the pictures of iris of differenet students using artificial intelligence techniques like Neural Networks.

Project Objectives

Our main objective of this system is to mark the attendance of individuals smartly and efficiently. This system will be reliable and easy to operate.

Today's e-security is in critical need of finding accurate, secure and cost-effective alternatives to passwords and personal identification numbers (PIN) as financial losses increase dramatically year over year from computer-based fraud such as computer hacking and identity theft so here the Iris recognition system can be a best option.

Project Implementation Method

Firstly, we will make a dataset which will contain images of iris of different students. The images of those students will be taken which we want to recognize after training and mark attendance.

After taking several images of each student we will train our model using Artificial intelligence techniques like Neural Networks.

After the training, now our model is ready to test and mark attendance of those students, take a picture of a student feed it to the model and the model will tell you which student it is and mark his attendance by only checking the picture of studnet's iris.

Benefits of the Project

The project is very useful for the purpose of attendance.It will provide you following benefits:

1.The attendance of students that do veil or cover thier faces will also be easily marked beacause this system not look for facial features it only needs clear picture of iris.

2.Difficult to forge or spoof.

3.Accurately marks attendance

4.Provides more accuracy than fingerprints and other biometric system.

5.The main advantage of iris recognition system is its stability and uniqueness that results in a single enrolment for the lifetime.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Without the camera that is expensive it would be only a software that will be trained on free datasets available on internet.

But if we got camera it will be a full implemented system that will consist of a camera to take pictures and a software of training and recognizing.
