IoT based smart power protection system
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryShort circuit cause many severe accidents, and we donnot have any method to monitor electrical faults remotly. We are going to design a project which is based on IOT. So we can monitor the faults remotly. This project can measure and control the over voltage fault , under voltage faults , over current faults etc and send these faults to cloud server.
Project ObjectivesThe main objectives of project are
•To enhance electrical safety by fast disconnection of the power supply in case of fault events like leakage current, electrical arc, overcurrent or overvoltage.
•To enable real-time monitoring and notification events through an advanced communication interface.
Project Implementation MethodThe implementation of project is based on following steps
literature review
equipment selection
algorithm Designing
Benefits of the ProjectThe benifits of project are
In order to provide advanced, remote monitoring of the events and real-time notifications. Such an approach fostering the synergy between the arising IoT and traditional electrical protection system has the benefits of providing improved scalability, security and interoperability of the entire system, and pertains to a newly emerging concept of the Internet of Energy (IoE).
The implementation of IoT in power system must rely on the line monitoring and real-time control in all aspects of the grid operating parameters, and the basic characteristics are grid information, communication, and automation. Meanwhile, IoT technology is used to implement
1. Comprehensive perception
2. Reliable transmission
3. Intelligent processing.
The final deliverable of project is working hardware prototype.
•Equipment Safety
•Real time Monitoring and Control of the Protection System at one touch.
•Real-time notifications to designated persons.
