PLC has several known features including, flexibility,
reliability, low power consumption and ease of
expandability. The software abstraction level changes mere
requirement in extending and optimizing the control
process rather than internal rewiring .
In today’s world most of the systems are operate on automation. Because of that the automotive systems are most efficient. Automation means use of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & Supervisory Control and instead of electromechanical devices. PLC based distribution monitoring & control means use of automotive system in electrical distribution system for monitoring the electrical parameters (like voltage, current, power factor, etc) & controlling if any fault occurs in electrical system with the help of personal computer (PC). Project ObjectivesIOT based Industrial Power Distribution system for industries is design to provide easy access to user.this project is provide automation and supervisory control in the field of power distribution.
Power Factor disturbance is also a big problem at industrial level so this centerlised system also improved power factor automatically.
In case of fault occur on the bus bar causes the complete shutdown of power in industries this project provide the bus arrangments scheme that solve this problem
All the loads are controlled by IOT webserver and HMI and monitor all the parameters on HMI and IOT Server.
This project also controlled supply of generator and wapda by using PLC
Project Implementation MethodPLC is a medium between electrical system and Personal Computer for to take input and output bits. By using the parameters, we can easily control any load in our system to improve system operation, system reliability, etc. alternatively, PLC communication system make it possible to integrate protection control and monitoring electrical parameter together for maximum benefit. Power factor also improve by plc.
Each of the major subsystems has individual PLC through which they can
be controlled and monitored locally. PLCs can be controlled and monitored from HMI and IOT Server.
This inter-PLC communication provides current status and
helps to take immediate decisions in case of any
emergency or fault of any subsystem.
In Distribution System many Magnetic contactor and circuit breakers are used. Whenever there
is less power generation because of the problems, we can monitor and control through
web server. In power distribution management project, the computer an HMI is used for
assigning the priority for various loads. The signals are given to the computer and HMI Arduino send the commands to PLC to controls the sequence of
disconnecting the load. On basis of controls from the computer the relays or breakers are
managed.
PLC and Energy analzer communicate through RS 485 Communication . Current Transformer measure the current and energy analyzer analyze the current send data to PLC. PLC shows power and current on HMI. PLC also take action according to its set limits.Power factor also display on HMI and improved automatically by PLC.
Benefits of the ProjectElectric power distribution system is an important part of electrical power systems in delivery of electricity to consumers. Automation in the distribution field allows utilities to implement flexible control of distribution systems, which can be used to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality of electric service. Presently, worldwide research and development efforts are focused in the areas of communication technologies revolution and application of IEC 61850 protocol in the distribution automation to make distribution automation more intelligent, efficient and cost effective.
The amount of specific development that needs to be performed by the end-user is limited, especially with suitable engineering. Reliability and robustness. These systems are used for mission critical industrial processes where reliability and performance are paramount. In addition, specific development is performed within a well-established framework that enhances reliability and robustness.
Distributed Control System is a specially designed control system used to control complex, large, and geographically distributed applications in industrial processes. In this, controllers are distributed throughout the entire plant area. DCS provides information to multiple displays for the user interface.
