IoT based smart home automation and load management
The brief summary of our project is that it involves introducing a degree of computerized or automatic control to certain electrical and electronic systems in the building. A hardware system is installed to monitor and control the various appliances. The system would control the appliances based on its configuration. For example it could control fan speed automatically on the basis of room temperature and turn on Ac after certain temperature. This project demonstrates a simple home automation system that allows a user to control it with a wireless device such as wifi enabled mobile phone. The system allows the user to control each of the lights and fans individually. Basically a android app controlled system on which there is automatically controlled on fan speed as well as on bulb intensity, on the basis of temperature and light intensity.
In this project our goal is to make the efficient system for the domestic use, this project will be helpful in managing the budget of electricity, and people can save money by analyzing the units consumed by a specific load. Through this project, we can easily control our devices by mobile phone.
Development of Android application for Remote Monitoring and Controlling. Automation of light and fan on the basis of temperature and light intensity.
We are using relays for switching purpose and we connect relays to Arduino so that we can control the relay according to our logic .Fan will be controlled according to the temperature and light is controlled according to the intensity of light For temperature sensing we are using DHT11 sense the temperature and arduino give the signal to the relay according to the temperature signal will be give in the form of pulses same as for the light for other two loads we just do switching from app which is also connected with arduino.
There are many projects available in the market which are used for automation of the appliances many of them are for industries.Basically this idea was started from industries from where there is requirement of reducing human effort for the sake of earning more profit it started from automatic machinery which does several tasks like bottle filling,wrapping,designing of dyes etc.Then comes the home automation systems which started in 20th century and this idea was becoming more efficient day by day but the main drawback in this system was that it was limited to on/off the appliances and there is no controlling device involved in this system like remote control,mobile app etc.[2] Our aim is to develop a system which includes controlling device such as mobile app and mobile app interfaced with hardware which is appliances and we can control its working through our mobile it will be more efficient as compare to the other projects. Main feature of our project that it can control speed of fan and intensity of light which is through the app and can be controlled any where from mobile just you need is internet. [3] Our project also includes the display of units consumed by all appliances which will help people to manage there load and they can save money by restricting the use of appliances it can be helpful for industries as well.Our project basically an idea which can implemented to any machine and can control its working by doing alterations in the software and hardware this feature will be very helpful in future for operating devices from the mobile we chose mobile for our project because mobile is the device which we carry everywhere and every time and easy to carry any where.
In mechanical structure we are installing a software in home which is basically a model and it represents a home which have automatic system and home appliances are controlled by app. We are preparing a board on which we install our whole project containing arduino, relays, wi-fi module, and sensors. We have four loads in our project named as oven, bulb, fan and Air conditioned. We are representing Ac with a bulb when the room temperature increases above 30 C our Ac automatically ON we use bulb as the representative of Ac.Sensors are connected with arduino through which they give signal to the relays to operate accordingly voltage,current and power is shown on the LCD display.Same parameters are also shown on the app Fan and Bulb operates according to the temperature and intensity which we sense from the sensors and appliances work accordingly.
There are two software we use to make our project.
• Proteus
• MIT App Inventor
We are using Proteus and MIT app inventor for the completion of our project which is totally based on software. We use Proteus software for simulation of any type. Basically we use Proteus for our project simulation. In Proteus software we make our whole project and see results on this software. We use MIT app inventor for android app development. Basically we made our app on MIT app inventor because this is easy for use and reliable.
