Main Reasons: Technology is advancing with every passing day and owning smart home is becoming a necessity. The convenience of controlling the functions of your home from your smart phone makes one’s life comfortable. By Making your devices smart, you acquire the dexterity to make them energy efficient and attain the ability to customize the way they work.
Theme of the Project: Using the potential of the increasingly influential Internet of things platform to develop a smart electric switch board which can be used in replacement to conventional Electric Switches, Which is controlled via a dedicated Android Application.
Need of Design: With the advancement in technology, people can access almost everything from the internet through their own mobile phone App. To add to the comfort of people, the internet of things have become a very strong platform where multiple devices are connected through internet for user to monitor/control. Our focus is on developing a smart home Electric circuit which will replace the conventional electric switches, the user will acquire the ability to conveniently operate his home through a Android App.
Ideas to be achieved: The idea is to develop a wifi enabled electric switch board which can communicate with the user via an Internet of things platform, A user friendly interface to be developed to make it easier for the consumers to interact, monitor and operate the device. To be able to make the design cost effective and easily maintainable
Comparing different IoT cloud platforms and selecting on the basis of security, real-time performance and ease of use as per our application. Designing circuit schematic of the main hardware component of the electric switch while ensuring minimal power losses and better heat dissipation. Design and development of a User friendly Android App to control the switch & manual control incase of internet disconnection.
This project responds to a world wide call of making the lives of consumer easy and efficient. The product that we are developing not only results in ease of user but also results in efficiency as the user can control how the electric devices act through his mobile app from anywhere in the world. The usage can be monitored and easily controlled and power usage to be minimized as much as possible.
