IOT doorbell allows users, remotely mounted near the entrance door to the building, to track visitors in real-time, via an IoT-based doorbell. By automatically storing and analyzing the image for facial matching, this device makes protection more autonomous and uses mail to confirm that the attacker is identified, or is not known. And make them known by entering OTP sent to the mail server. And make them known.

A wireless biometric system. A modern biometric lock, as opposed to the conventional lock, does not need a clamping or opening key. We no longer need to bring a set of keys anywhere, because we just need to use our fingerprint for the door to unlock/lock. We all have fingerprint biometrics sensors in our smartphones. But we are going to use this sensor to make a prototype of the biometric lock.

An intelligent anti-theft device that sends warnings to the owner via the Internet in the event of infringement and optionally raises an alarm.

Project Objectives

Users can track the visitor in real time, remotely mounted in the vicinity of the entrance with an IoT-based doorbell, via IOT doorbell. This system increases safety autonomy and uses mail to ensure that an intruder is identified or not, whether the facial image is stored and analyzed automatically. And just let them know when you enter OTP sent to the mail server. A biometrical wireless platform. In comparison to the traditional lock, a modern biometric lock does not require a clamping or opening key. Somewhere else we no longer need to place a set of keys, because we just need to use the fingerprint to unlock the door. We all have fingerprint biometric sensors on our smartphones. However, we are using this sensor to create a prototype biometric lock. Intelligent anti-theft system which sends its owners warnings through the Internet if a violation occurs and optionally raises the alarm.

Project Implementation Method

IOT doorbell.  Anybody who presses the doorbell activates the camera and catch its face and checks for its face with the registered database if it's an approved person's then the door will open, otherwise it sends an OTP with its intruder picture to the server. It will be added to the designated person database to open the door only if the unauthorized person enters the OTP.

  1. The PIR sensor is mounted close to the door to identify human activity
  2. Whenever an individual is identified, the buzzer automatically turns on as a door bell.
  3. Due to human activities and live video streams to the user, the camera is enabled too.
  4. The user can authenticate the person's entry with an Android application.
  5. Then the servo motors are operated and the door is unlocked.
  6. All this data is sent for storage and review to the cloud.

Intelligent anti-theft device that sends the warnings to the owner via Internet in the event of infringement and optionally raises an alarm. In this device, an advanced protection system is developed by the use of small PIR and IR sensors installed around the Node MCU controller. Sensing of the PIR, Intruder & Controller presence reads the signal from the sensors, and if the intruder is identified, the detected picture is compared with predefined images in the databank, then a buzzer switches on and predefined number alerts are given. The invasive video can also be tracked and aestheticized.

Benefits of the Project

Basically, the purpose of our project is to provide security to the people living inside the house.

Our system is 3 in 1 system consisting of

  • Iot doorbell
  • Biometric lock
  • Anti-theft system

Now the question is that it is already implemented. Yes it is but there are 3 uniqueness in our system i.e.

  • It’s a 3 in 1 system, since in Pakistan if we talk about biometric locks so they are only used in organizations its very rare if we see them used in our houses
  • Its cost is very low. If we want to buy just only one part for instance a security camera than its cost is very high but our system provides low cost 3 in 1 secure system
  • It is an easy to plug and play system

So iot doorbell is not just an ordinary bell it will perform many functions like it will inform us about the arrival of the person along with the identity.

The biometric system will vanish the problem of using door keys

The anti-theft system will not only secure the house but also secure the system too.

If we look at the theft rate in Pakistan it has been increased tremendously from the last 3 years. So we are solving this problem by providing 3 in 1 secure system which is low cost and easily maintained. Since we will also provide monthly maintenance of our system to the customer.

Also, our system can be customized according to our customer whether he wants just one part of the whole system or he wants to change any setting of the system.

So our system is flexible and very easy to use even by a simple non-technical person.

The future of our project or product is of high importance since it will be used at a domestic level even a simple person can also afford it.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

IOT doorbell.  : 

  • Arduino Uno: The optical and analogue input / output pins in this board can be interfaced with different expansion boards. A feature in this board is the serial communication interface with USB to load the programs from a device.
  • PIR Sensor: This electronic sensor detects human movements in a certain range (5–12 m). In reality, it includes pyro electrical sensors that detect infrared radiation levels.
  • Camera Module: A camera module is mounted on the device to track the actions of people outside the home.
  •  A piezo buzzer is a loudspeaker that produces sound using the piezoelectric effect. It has a piezo disc as well as an inside oscillator. Each time the buzzer has been powered, a frequency around 2-4 kHz is produced by the oscillator and the piezo element vibrates to create a sound.
  • Servo Motor: Servo engine is a rotational actuator or linear actuator that is able to control the angular direction, speed and acceleration accurately. The motor is ideal for a location input with a sensor.
