IOT based personal safety protection systems for coal miners
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryCoal power consumption was 27 % of world total primary energy consumption by fuel in 2018. The coal mining being highly susceptible to accidents and fatalities, the diggers are puttingb their lives in hazards by working in the coal mines. In this project, a coal mine safety system is implemented using IOT platform to transmit the data. This Prototype senses the various health related parameters i.e. the presence of hazardous gas, pulse rate of miner, updated temperature/humidity, global positioning of miner, dust inside the coal mine, vibration bearing by a person and atmospheric pressure of a person. These all parameters will be then transmitted through a communication module to a dynamic internet protocol and will continuously monitored and displayed on the serial monitor and also through a mobile app.. In this way, one may monitor all labors working inside the mines and moreover in case of disaster the life of miner can be secured immediately, This system is mainly implemented to improve the working condition inside the coal mines and also to ensure workers safety.
Project ObjectivesOur aim and objective is to provide safety to the coal miners while focused on the hazards monitoring all the sensor values compared with the received data from the sensor with safety limits and if any hazards detected, the ground section will be given the necessary alert.
Project Implementation Method
|
- Increase the underground safety for the workers in the coal mines to save their lives.
- It can be used in construction industries
- Also can be used in Salt, Gold, Marble or any other underground mines.
- Wireless communication; the interconnected wireless sensors will provide fast and effective communication in loud or low-visual environments.
- Smart health-monitor individual worker heart rates, temperature and vibration tolerating by a person.
- Workers health can also be monitored through a mobile.
