We are using impinging jets of fluids to enhance heat transfer from the target surface. We are designing different nozzles and target surfaces to observe there effects on heat transfer. Our main area of focus is designing fluidic oscillators and target surface.An experimental setup will also be developed to test different setups of impinging jets.

Project Objectives
  1. Designing surfaces and nozzles to increase heat transfer.
  2. Numerical analysis of the designed parts.
  3. Developing an experimental setup to provide a platform for experimental study.
  4. Experimental study of the setup.
  5. Comparison of the numerical and experimental study.
  6. Comparison of the newly created designs to the previous one.
Project Implementation Method

The project has wide variety of applications in every engineering aspect.

  1. In electronics industry small nozzles can be used to cool the system very efficiently.
  2. For large power stations which require continuous cooling have good application.
  3. Cooling of turbine blades is another good application.
  4. Specially designed equipements with attached plates can be cooled.
Benefits of the Project
  1. Higher heat transfer rates can be achieved with lower cost improvement.
  2. Smaller plants as cooling apparatus requires lesser space.
  3. More energy efficient as lower temperature gradient can produce better results.
