The Intelligent IoT based Automated Irrigation System developed involves Arduino and Raspberry Pi3 as microcontroller and processing unit. In addition moisture and temperature Sensors deployed in the soil for sensing the temperature and soil moisture level. The Smart Irrigation System is an IoT based device that is capable of automating the irrigation process by analyzing the moisture of soil and the climate condition (like raining). Also, the data of sensors will be displayed in graphical form on the BOLT cloud page.
Project ObjectivesWe aim at developing the Smart Irrigation System Using IoT Technology with the objective of automating the total irrigation system which provides adequate water required by crop by monitoring the moisture of soil and climate condition in order to prevent the wastage of water resource.
Project Implementation MethodIn the proposed Irrigation system IoT which is going to be implemented, in this system all the information that is received from the sensors and the various parameters are given to the Arduino UNO microcontroller as an analog input. A preset value of the soil moisture sensor is fixed in the microcontroller and also for fencing.
Benefits of the ProjectThe advantage of using the smart irrigation IoT technique is that it reduces overall water consumption. Well, the savings can be increased further if you stop the use of traditional sprinklers and utilize the nozzles that can spray water rotating water torrents in multiple areas.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableHere we are building an IoT-based Irrigation System using ESP8266 NodeMCU Module and DHT11 Sensor. It will not only automatically irrigate the water based on the moisture level in the soil but also send the Data to ThingSpeak Server to keep track of the land condition.
