Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary| What will be done in our project: 1. Drowsiness Detection of a Driver (using a camera which can also detect the drowsiness at night) and make a warning alarm when drowsiness is detected and also start vibration beneath the driver’s seat (Optional). 2. If the drowsiness is detected for consecutive 3 or more times, the side windows of the car will be open automatically to make sure that there is no suffocation for the driver. 3. Along with drowsiness detection, the e-health care sensors will measure the heartbeat (respiration and temperature-optional) of the driver’s body and car windows will be open automatically when the measurements of heartbeat will be irregular or continuous detection of drowsiness of the driver. If the heartrate is less than a specific threshold, then it will open the window along with generation of a text message to an emergency department after a short duration of 1-2 minutes. 4. In case of emergency (mentioned above regarding heartbeat or any accidental situation), GSM module with the GPS module, will generate a message to any nearest emergency department with the car’s location/coordinates and driver’s heartbeat measurement (Optional). Along with this, Camera will take the image of the driver and upload to the online server which will be operated by emergency department and it will help the system operator to estimate the driver’s current condition. And in the case of emergency, the GPS and GSM module will generate text consisting car’s registration number and driver’s current coordinates. Updated Co-ordinates will send to the operator with the duration of 1-2 minutes. 5. Camera, which will be used for the drowsiness detection, can also detect the unauthorized driver of the car and for safety measurements, it will take a photograph of the unauthorized person and will upload on the online web servers. We will also try to prevent the vehicle’s theft or any unauthorized usage of a car by using image recognition techniques. The scope/objective of this project is to monitor the driver in such a way that the driver does not get drowsy while driving a car, monitors the Heartbeat and Blood Pressure (Optional) of the driver and monitor vehicle to identify car theft, also it will help in vehicle tracking in an emergency situation. Camera (Logitech 720) will be used to detect the drowsiness of the driver and alarm and make vibration under the driver’s seat and if the drowsiness is detected for 2-3 times then the side windows of the car will be open automatically and it will be done by accessing the side windows automatic motors. Through that camera we can perform facial recognition and can reduce the chances of car theft. If any unknown or unauthorized person will sit in the driver’s seat then an alerting text message will be generated to the driver and also a snapshot will be taken of that unauthorized person and will be uploaded on the online server. This task is done with the help of GSM and GPS modules designed with embedded systems. Heart Rate Pulse Sensor (SEN-11574) will be used for measuring heartbeats of the driver and Blood Pressure sensor will be used for measuring Blood Pressure. Project Implementation Method

What and How it will work:
1. Drowsiness Detection of a Driver (using a camera which can also detect the drowsiness at night) and make a warning alarm when drowsiness is
detected and also start vibration beneath the driver’s seat (Optional).
How: Through Camera (Logitech C30E or may be any other) and using OpenCV and Python. Vibrator for BS Mobile B12 will be used for
the vibration purpose and a normal alarm will be used for alerting purpose.
2. If the drowsiness is detected for consecutive 3 or more times, the side windows of the car will be open automatically to make sure that there is no
suffocation for the driver.
How: It will be done using motor drivers and control circuitry, controlled by Raspberry pi, based on the output of the drowsiness detection algorithm.

How: SEN-11574 (heart rate pulse sensor) will be used for measuring heartbeat rate, and if the heartbeat rate (value) will be less than a specific threshold (value) then a text message will be generated to the nearby emergency department (or specific emergency department).

How: GSM module will be used to generate text message and the GPS module will be used for generating co-ordinates, both will be directly controlled by Raspberry Pi.
5. Camera, which will be used for the drowsiness detection, can also detect the unauthorized driver of the car and for safety measurements, it will take
a photograph of the unauthorized person and will upload on the online web servers. It will help, in the case of car theft.
How: The same camera used for drowsiness detection will be used for the face recognition purpose. If the person is unauthorized (after face detection) then an image will be captured and uploaded to the DBMS and a text message will be generated to the driver.
The major functions of our project include drowsiness detection of car driver by
monitoring its eyes and to generate an alarm in case of drowsiness being detected and
it will automatically open the windows of the car. The other main function of this project is to monitor Heart Beat and Blood Pressure of the driver and if there is any
abnormality being detected during driving, then a notification will be generated through
SMS within 20-25 seconds. Meanwhile, if any person wants to theft the car, then the image will be captured and that image will be uploaded on the web server and SMS will be
generated to the driver within 20-25 seconds.
Basically, this project is totally based on one traffic rule which states that if you get drowsy while driving a car (if car windows are closed), then a driver should open the windows to get fresh air and it will reduce the effect of drowsiness and it will definitely reduce to chances of any major accident. In addition to this, this project is also focusing on a driver's health also and also helping to reduce car theft incidents.
At the end of this project, we will have hardware and software integrated product, which can easily be fitted in cars.
