Integration of microgrid using renewable energy resources (solar and wind) with smart inverter
The project is based on the integration of solar and wind energy sources to produce a hybrid system. a DC voltage of 24 volts is generated from the solar panel with the help of buck converter and from wind turbine by using a three phase rectifier. The DC voltage is converted into ac voltage by using a 5 level cascaded H bridge multilevel inverter.
To design the hardware based model of solar and wind hybrid system to increase the efficiency and improve the reliability of the system.

The DC is generated from solar panel which is stepped down to 24 volts by using buck converter. From obtaining maximum power from solar panel, Mppt technique is used with perturb and observe algorithm. The wind turbine is used and the AC voltage produced from wind turbine is converted into ac voltage by using a three phase rectifier. The DC voltage from solar and wind turbine is given as DC input voltage to the 5 level cascaded H bridge multilevel inverter and at the output of multilevel inverter, ac voltage can be obtained.
The benefit of the project is that we can generate ac voltage using renewable energy resources. Through the solar wind hybrid system, reliable power supply is assured. If there is unavailability of solar energy,then output can be obtained from wind turbine. Similarly, if there is unavailability of wind energy, the output voltage can be obtained from solar panel.
The project uses solar and wind hybrid system to ensure reliability of power supply. The obtained simulation results are compared with hardware model results. The working of solar array and wind turbine is analysed
