According to Pakistan Higher Education Commission Report for 2013-14, there are over 3 million students enrolled in grades 13 through 16 in Pakistan’s 1086-degree colleges and 161 universities. The 3 million enrollment is 15% of the 20 million Pakistanis in the eligible age group of 18-24 years. Universities offer admission at different time frames and its hard to remember the admission details of this number of universities. Often admissions in some university is missed for newbies as a result of this problem. The purpose of this application is to resolve the problem which students face after intermediate, Bachelors and Masters for getting admission in an institute and other information of institutes that if no one is there to guide them properly about their interest or field relevant institutes and the scholarships available in these institutes. The main other problem that youngsters face is they mostly don’t have information about the events going to held around them and due to this, they don’t avail that opportunities. Also, Researchers face the difficulty to get information about the conferences that held around the globe. Through this app we engrossed in obtaining the structured data from the HEC associated university’s websites regarding all that admission related information of institutes. Our application will bestowing interactive interface where users can get the information about the technical and non-technical events that held in different institutes to give opportunities to students and players for participation and help the researchers for getting details and notifications about conferences, workshops and seminars. We are concerned in proffer the customizable interface to notify the users according to their preferences. We will scrap the data from HEC ranked universities. In the result of scraping, we’ll get raw data and preprocessing (Case conversion, Stopword Removal, Tokenizing, POS tagging and Stemming) will be performed to raw data. Through processed data we will train a model using SVM/ Multinomial Naive Bayes and best model will give us trained model. Through this trained model we’ll classify the data and will store it to centralized database. User app will access to the centralized database to fetch different news. | | Project Objectives |
