This Project ‘Virtual Indoor Ordering System’ is an app that is functional only when the customer is within the premises and is authenticated, the goal of this app is to automate the entire process of how consumers come into a food court, search for what they want and then order, this whole process is automated by the app once the user is at the right place, in this case, the food court, he would get a QR code that he needs to scan and can enter the food court virtually. Once the user has successfully logged in to the app through the QR scanning procedure he can relax and have the whole hectic process of roaming through every restaurant just to see the menu on his finger scroll through the app, not only this, now the user has got complete access to order whatever he wants and from whichever restaurants he wants, a cherry on top is he can place orders from different restaurants of his choice at once too. The automation and intelligence of this app show another feature, that once the cart is filled by the user, the recommender system will recommend him add-ons or better alternative deals keeping the already added items in the cart into consideration. Once the order is confirmed by the user, the user pays the bill via card and gets confirmation of his order followed by a notification that notifies the order completion time.
The aim of this project is to eradicate the unnecessary hassle caused by outnumbered customers gathered around the POS terminal at a time, which results in noncompliance of SOPs and chaos. This project is designed to automate the tedious process of ordering an item from a Mall or a place with multiple franchises. An easy access will be granted as soon as the customer enters the premises through the feature of Geolocation to make this app user-friendly as sign-in options often drive customers away from such apps. Moreover, all the restaurants will be displayed on one page so that users can easily navigate through each restaurant’s menu and choose the best possible meal for themselves. This project will work on automating the shopping cart in a way that users will be able to add items from different vendors in a single cart which will be distributed to different vendors along with the payment so that they can easily start processing orders. Lastly, this project will include a recommender system that will recommend the best possible economical deal to customers according to their choices.
Frequently bought together algorithms can be used in this project for recommendation purposes. This algorithm will work in such a way, when the user will be done by selecting items/items and adding to the cart, by doing the analysis, it will find the best matches with already selected item/items, which are also most frequently ordered by the users. After being done by finding the best matches, it will provide those matches to the users.
We'll be using Apriori and Frequent Pattern Growth Algorithm.
Moreover, we'll create Apis which will get and post orders and place orders to POS
The goal of the software/app is to provide the best solutions for all the problems that occur in the scenario as discussed above.
1 Gathering all the restaurants on one screen The first feature of the app is that it provides a combined place for all the restaurants available in a food court and solves the problem for the consumer to move off his seat and wander around the whole area, he now just have to take his phone out and search for the best options available.
2 E-menu for the restaurants After having the benefit of selecting a restaurant of his choice on his mobile device, he simply needs to tap on his choice and can visit the complete menu and all the offerings of that particular restaurant, this feature saves the consumer from hopping into the crowd and blocking others from placing the order so no embarrassment for anyone is assured, he can sit wherever he likes and browse the menu.
3 Staff gets an approved order This feature is primarily beneficial for the restaurant staff as they don’t have to face any confused customers or tell them one by one about the items they are offering, the user placed the order at ease after reading all the descriptions and browsing all the menus of other restaurants too, the staff has just to confirm the order and raise a ticket.
4 Multiple orders at once This is the best and the most futuristic feature of this app as it solves the lacking of many other, automated solutions of the same type. With this feature, a customer does not have to place the order one by one to every restaurant of his choice but can select items from several options available and keep adding them to his cart, he would be charged a combined amount and at the same time, his payment would reach each of the restaurants he bought from.
5 Recommendation System This feature recommender system acts as a knowledgeable big brother for the consumer, it knows and remembers what other people usually buy singly or in combination it observes the customer’s cart and hit him up with soft recommendations that if he likes he can avail it and make his meal more valuable.
Two Laptops will be arranged as POS terminals and there will be two users and our app will get live in their respective devices.
