In this application, we propose a vision-based location positioning system using augmented reality technologies for indoor navigation. Indoor Navigation means the flexible guidance of people in confusing, unknown buildings and building complexes. The user of an indoor navigation system gets his own location displayed on a map on his own smart device. The user’s position in and around the building is permanently updated by indoor positioning, so that the device always shows the current position on the route. Because the position is calculated on the user’s device. Applications that implement Augmented Reality are able to improve the user experience through their numerous current applications and the potential they offer for the future. These systems can significantly improve many areas of our lives. The goal is to make indoor navigation and pathfinding as comfortable as possible to user that the user doesn’t have to rely on anyone else except his cellphone. The lack of GPS support in an indoor environments has always made this a challenge. But with augmented reality, it is possible to solve this problem. Well, this technology is greatly helpful for businesses as they can put this service to good use. Indoor positioning & navigation apps can be used by them to map out large buildings, such as malls, railways, airports, for visitors. So offices, malls, hospitals, airports, warehouses, university campuses, all of these building cover a lot of areas, and thus it becomes challenging for visitors to find their way quickly.

In this Android application, indoor navigation will be done by fetching the user’s position through QR code and the user will select their destination by choosing target places in application’s UI (target places consist of images that will be recognized through computer vision AR core SDKs / Vero React ), the path will be displayed on mobile screen by AR core / Vero React camera, moreover the application will have 2D map in which visual markers (target places) are placed, the visual markers will be stored in Vuforia cloud. Each user will have their own account to log in to the application, the data will be saved in My SQL database / No SQL database which will be connected to application through REST API. We will use unity 3D with C# / JS and ARCore / Vero React to create 3D visualization and AR navigation and for the REST API we will use Node.js which will be connected through C# / JS in our application for the login and registration.
