Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject SummaryFrom the past few decades the field of computer graphics flourishes tremendously in many disciplines of life. Its emergent in other fields like mobile computing, origami and illusion based software development open new sphere to be explore. Origami is a years-old practice use for folding the papers its basic purpose is to refine the motor skills, mental construction and learning enhancement in children whereas illusion based software system shows the graphic images with different impressions. These type of system currently categorized as optical, cognitive, animated etc. The optical illusion based system are also called visual illusions which creates the visual precepts that arguably appears to different from reality. From the empirical analysis of literature it has been found that very limited work have been available with the blend of optical illusion and origami on graphic images for learning perspective. The basic purpose of this project is to capture the advantages of origami, illusion based software systems and computer graphics disciplines by implementing them into one application. The proposed software system is a learning application for the children so that they can enhance their mental capabilities practically. The proposed software system will be divided into following four modules insertion, 3D model construction and printing. This project will not only facilitate the teacher and children in learning enhancement skills but also facilitate the researchers for future researches.
Project ObjectivesThe basic objective of the propose software system are
- An Empirical analysis of the literature have been made through which optical illusion based 3d model techniques for graphic images will be extracted.
- Insertion of the graphical images in the database will be done using andriod framework.
- The 3D model construction module is divided into three sub section. In the first section editing of graphic images using android framework and image processing will be made. In the second section the origami techniques (i.e. Meakawas Algorithm and Kawasaki Algorithm) will be used for specifying the folding area of images. The 3d model preview section provides the optical illusion based 3D model of the desired graphic image on the smart board so that children will collaborate and refine their images collectively.
- At the end printing of the optical illusion based graphic images with folding area will be printed using android studio.
A unified process modeling approach will be used for the development of this project. The project is categorize into two basic modules, client side and server side. Graphic image insertion, 3D model construction modules are the part of server side whereas client side provide the interfaces to mobile phones, smart boards and printing modules
