Renewable energy resources such as wind plant and solar power have become one of the most demanded sources of energy for its clean and purified generation of electricity that fulfills our demands. But now-a-days the energy consumption increases rapidly and on other side World lacks safe low carbon and cheap energy alternatives to fossil fuels. Until we scale up those alternatives the worlds will continue to face major energy problems. Even During these days people are facing a lot of problems regarding electricity and the plants working presently are not able to produce the demanding amount of energy.
The wind energy and solar power plant is a producer of renewable energy that is pollution-free and environmentally friendly.
Basically, wind power is considered generate by turning the blades by wind. Blades turn the rotor and rotor turn the shaft, then shaft spin the generator and generator produce the electricity. In our FYP, PIC18 microcontroller used for controlling the pulses of converter and designed the inverter for our requirement.
Solar energy is one of the energies currently being actively developed by the Government of Pakistan because, as a tropical country, Pakistan has sizeable solar energy potential. As solar radiations is electromagnetic radiation reaches on the earth surface and capture by the solar technologies and turn into useful forms of energy. Basically Photo voltaic cell is utilized as solar panels in our project in which energy of sunlight is absorbed and creates electrical charges which creates the internal electrical filed in the cell which produce the electricity. For this purpose Perturb and observe technique is used for the solar panels by using PIC18 microcontroller for controlling the PWM of converter and stored the output by the batteries. So in this way by using hybrid energies we can derive our load.
Our core Objective is to generate electricity by using renewable energy sources using digital control technique. Renewable energy sources that we used in our FYP are wind and solar energy then according to our requirement we have to integrate the output of both wind plant and solar module. Hence our project is to hybridization of wind and solar energies by designing perturbation and observation technique of Maximum power point tracking using PIC18 microcontroller which will segregate, detect and classify the input signal as per requirements.
We started off our work by developing the code for Mppt that will control the duty cycle of dc-dc converter. We designed the Buck-boost converter for controlling the voltage according to requirement.
We fed the input of solar panel to the Buck-boost using PIC microcontroller .
On the other hand we do the same thing for the wind module. Then we integrated the output of both models i.e solar and wind using PIC microcontroller and stored by the battery. Then we designed the inverter and connected it to the battery that will derive the AC load. Moreover We've made the circuits for CT to measure the current flowing through the load
And PT to measure the voltage across the laod.
