Household Energy Consumption Optimization using Cloud Computing
Nowadays, the need of energy is increasing exponentially and energy saving or optimization is key issue for researchers, therefore, great attention has been paid to load scheduling, Energy Optimization, and less billing generation. As new technologies are being introduced, people are switching more towards automatic systems rather than performing certain tasks manually. In this regard, most of the work is done on this topic using time slots, but less work is done in the area of pricing and units’ consideration. To overcome these limits of improving energy, smart system can be used for smartly monitoring and controlling household appliances for low billing generation keeping in view the deliberations of the required units. The development of a cloud based controller device with a server based system to control the energy consumption optimization, scheduling & switching ON/OFF the household electrical appliances is the Household Energy Consumption Optimization using CLOUD COMPUTING. Further, the our proposed system will give users flexibility while deciding the bill acccording to their comfort zone with the help of the software. The project’s outcome will assist in resolving the issue of needless energy use in household appliances in order to save energy.
The residential sector is a major contributor the global energy balance, but the residential consumers can’t mange their electricity bills through manual scheduling of load. It is difficult to decide when and which load should be manually turn on/off according to the desired bill.Most of the work is done on this topic using time slots, but less work is done in the area of pricing and units consideration.
To overcome these limitations of energy optimization, smart system can be used for smartly monitoring and controlling the home appliances for less billing generation by taking into account the desired units consideration.
Furthermore, in broader perspective, this project can be utilized in the energy management of hotels’ & other huge buildings. Xampp software can be used to run the controller device through a web portal on the internet. On this software, there will be indication of power consumption by each load, the bnotification of whether the load is operating in off-peak or peak hours. The created application can be used as a controller to define proper household schedules. In this way, extra energy usage can be reduced, thus energy consumption can be optimized.

First we make the hardware house model, that will be integrated with the software.
Then, we download and install the Xampp Software.
Next, we creat a web portal using the Xampp Software. Finally, we set up our system as a local host, which allows us to access the web portal that was created using the PHP language.
So, after opening the web portal, we can now set the schedule of household appliances according to the bill consideration, according to the scheduled timetable, the appliances will operate.
Through that portal, a file will be generated continuously that will change data according to units scheduling.
The controller (NodeMCU ESP8266) will then be programmed to extract that specific file from the web site and send commands to relays to regulate the ON/OFF operation of household appliances based on units scheduling.
in case, there will be the flunctuations in the power supply, the alarm condition will be on. Or if there is utilization of access energy than the scheduled energy, then the red indication will be in operation to notify consumer, that his power usage is exceeded.
if there is the condition, where system is disconnected with the server, then there will alarm sound, which will alert the consumer.
This project has benefits in the household energy optimization, hotel management system, and green buildings. In the energy management of large buildings, manual controlling can't be done. a layman can't understand, which load should be turned on or off at the specific time of the day. Because there is the concept of peak and off peak hours in the bill calculation. Thus, with the help of this project, consumer can calculate his bill before operating his load and manage his bill according to his financial conditions. he will put the ratings of appliances to be operated, when he will mark the hour for the appliance operation, the software will indicate, whether the time comes in eak hour or off-peak hour. again during the checkout system of the hotels, the power of vacant room can be turned off with the help of software. thus, human intervention can be minimized.
This project is very helpful where consumer can fulfill his needs of electricity in an optimized manner with the help of Cloud Computing software. Further, with the help of Cloud Computing, the consumer could manage his load from worldwide.
The goal of this research study is to develop an Cloud-based controller device with a server-based system to regulate the scheduling mechanism of household electrical appliances. The project's outcome will aid in tackling the issue of unnecessary energy use in household equipment, allowing for energy savings. The Xampp software can be used to run the controller device via the internet via a web interface.
The application that was generated can be used as a controller to set up correct household scheduling. If there is no scheduled class, the appliance will be turned off, and it will automatically switch on when a class is scheduled.
According to the etechnical details, the consumer can consumer his loads according to his units consideration, thus there will be enrgy consumption optimization. Consumer can set his desired bill before the operation of household appliances, the tarriff rate is set into the software, which will indicate the consumer that his load in operaating in which time and what will be the taxation. After the taxation, the price of units will be indicated. Thus, consumer could build an idea, that whether he should increase or decrease the time of load operation.
After implementation, Saving of energy can noticed. Thus, the goal of Household energy Consumption optimization can be achieved.
According to the findings and discussion, a smart scheduling-based household automation system can reduce power usage if the user effectively employs the system's controlling functions. With the scheduling function configured appropriately, even if the user is not always interacting with the system, smart scheduling based household automation system successfully makes controlling of the household equipment that is easy for its user with the intuitive online user interface
