For a country to be economically strong, it must ensure a safe and secure environment for citizens, investors and tourists. Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are being used to monitor activities, i.e. robberies, but these cameras still require human supervision and intervention. Karachi's crime rate is increasing rapidly due to low-security standards, and the government has failed to stop the crimes. Home Security System with CCTV Camera using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) is a concept to secure the home from the enemy. The basic idea is to protect and ensure the house from any misfortune crime.  In this project, Home Security System (HSS), the CCTV camera is installed and monitor all the areas to secure it properly. Firstly, it will automatically detect all the persons (members of the family) and persons with weapons (enemy) like (Knifes, Guns, Hammar).  The alarm is raised whenever it sees an enemy with a weapon and makes an alert for the home members. In the meantime, the CCTV camera captures the image and saves it in a particular folder for the record. Moreover, it will generate an alert to make aware the members of the house.  The implementation of the project will be done by using deep learning algorithms, fast processing hardware, and advanced CCTV cameras, weapon detection in real-time is a severe challenge. The project focuses on providing a secure place using CCTV footage as a source to detect deadly weapons and enemies by applying deep learning algorithms by training different weapons classes and relevant objects.

Project Objectives

Home Security System with CCTV Camera using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) is a concept to secure the home from the enemy. In the meantime, the CCTV camera captures the image and saves it in a particular folder for the record. In this way, the crime rate of robbery will be decreased.

Project Implementation Method

This project's motivation is to do a project easily usable for the local citizens. Our project provides home security using AI techniques and integrated with CCTV cameras. Due to increased robbery cases, we thought to make our Final Year Project to provide security to the home by implementing the Deep Convolutional Neural Networks.

Benefits of the Project

Our HSS provide security to house bcause the crime rate across the globe has increased mainly because of the frequent use of handheld weapons during violent activity. The crime ratio because of guns is critical in numerous parts of the world. High incidents were recorded in the past few years using dangerous weapons in public or private areas. Starting with the past year’s attacks on Mosque in New Zealand, Army public school, many robberies in houses, etc.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Home Security System (HSS) is a GUI based software application using Python Tkinter, deep learning models and MySQL (database). HSS insure to protect house from any criminal activity. CCTV camera is being use and monitor the surrounding of house. Initially after user registration and login, user redirect to the dashboard, using real-time or video input camera will detect every person and person carrying weapons. The alarm is raised at whatever point it detect a weapon with a person and rise an alarm as an alert for the home individuals. Meanwhile, the CCTV camera catches the picture and saves it in a specific folder for the record or evidence.
