Project Summary

Our project is concerned with the smart home, i.e. control house mandatory things with smartphones like a door opening, intruder alert, fans, and lights, etc. we will use sensors cameras, microcontrollers, chips, and Arduino for this purpose. Features of our project include a door and window security system, fan, and lights control system. Doors and windows will be connected to a cellphone through software i.e. Mobile App. There will security cameras on doors and windows in which photos of recognized people are saved. If an intruder attempts to enter the home, it will produce red light alert and the alarm will be produced and it will also notify the owner through the app. In the same way, temperature sensors will be used to control fan speed and light sensors will be used to control light intensity and bulbs.

Project Objectives

One home automation application that has recently started to become mainstream is the ability to control door locks using a smartphone application or through the internet (web application). This project aims to develop a prototype of a product capable of locking/unlocking a door, with an emphasis on low cost and open-source configurability. The end goal beyond this project would be a product that would hopefully allow people to connect to many other home devices through WiFi. It will modernize the living and provide privacy and security.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

It takes a lot of effort to manage all the appliances individually and keep track of their performance. A simple home contains appliances like fans and lights and many more. But our motive is to make the Appliances as smarter as possible. So we decided to work on the door lock/open system on a facial recognition basis, increasing/ decreasing fan speed with an increase/decrease in temperature. and a smart window generates an alarm and popup notification if it detects any object on the window.
