Home Automation and Security System
Home automation is a growing industry worldwide, where many solutions are coming to improve the quality of life through convenience as well as reduction in bills. Most of the currently available home automation systems are expensive and support only specific devices thus users have to buy these costly appliances.
The proposed system is to design an IoT based Home Automation and Security System which will be controlled through voice and manual commands using android application. This system will control home appliances such as Gas Geyser & Heater through an Android application (running on any android supported device by using voice commands and buttons on android app, making it suitable for handicap users). This system will also provide user security features (including Automated door locking, live streaming, intercom). Moreover, the system will also control Electrical devices (via Android device).The system will have one Master controller and three slave controllers: type one, type two and type three. Master controller will control the secondary controllers on one side and on the other side it is connected to android application via internet. The type one controller will be used to switch ON or Switch OFF the Gas Geyser. While Type two controller is to control and monitor security operations. Additionally, the timer option will also be incorporated to the geyser control, through which user can select a particular time interval for switching ON a geyser. While type three controller will control the automation of Electrical devices.

To remotely control the Home Gas and Electrical appliances via Android device.
To provide Video Surveillance, Intercom Facility.
To provide Security Features such as Auto-mated Door Locking.
The System will consist of two modules: one is scalable smart switch that is replaceable with conventional switch and will control Gas Appliances connected to the switch board. The proposed system will be controlled through a user-friendly android application interface to switch ON/OFF the Gas appliances and to control the geyser functionalities like setting the desired temperature of geyser and timer option to select a particular time interval to automatically switch ON the geyser in that time. The control of Gas Appliances will be done by the help of an electronic Gas Valve. The Valve will function through different sensors and Audrino, microcontrollers. Moreover, automation of Electrical devices is also added in this system which will be automated with help of relays and switches and provide user to on/off the appliances via Android Device (Or Manually).
The second module consist of the smart security features. The system will provide user features such as Video Surveillance or Live Streaming through an IP based Camera. Intercom will also be provided to the user for outside the house communication. And the feature of Automated Door Locking will also be present in the prototype, which will lock & unlock the door according to the instructions given by the user.
All of this will be implemented using techniques of IoT, microcontrollers and various sensors. Final deliverable will be a prototype system which will consist of above given features.

Final Deliverable of project will be a prototype of a Home Automation System. The Prototype will consist of Gas valves which will control the Gas pressure electronically through which automation will happen. The final control of the Gas appliances will be done through an Android Application.
Moreover, the prototype will also consist of security features such as:
Video Surveillance: This feature will be added through an IP camera which will provide Live IP based Streaming.
Intercom: This feature will provide user to communicate with those who are outside the home in for a security conformation in order to eliminate risky contacts.
Door lock: Feature of Automated Door locking will provide use to lock & unlock the doors from a distant and remote location through an Android Application on an Android device
