Project Summary

Proper Health Monitoring Service is the most challenging issue in rural areas of Pakistan due to deprived medical facilities and far away from good doctors and hospitals. Moreover due to huge travel expenses most of the poor people  are reluctant to travel to the city for the treatment consequently some minor diseases become major due to delay in treatment and this negligence causes serious health problems.

Hence we proposed the solution in our project which deals with patient health monitoring Kit especially, for High Blood pressure patient, Asthma patient, general diseases just like fever besides of this environmental conditions are also monitored that are related to the health just like toxic gases and humidity.

Project Objectives

•To collect and monitor patient’s health related data using sensors such as body temperature, blood pressure, blood oxygen, heart beat etc.

•To integrate the sensors with the Arduino controller and Arduino controller to the Bluetooth module for transmitting the generated data to the tablet .

•To transmit the patient’s data  and receive the prescription through GSM.

•To store the data  and medicines suggested by the doctor through tablet PC.

Project Implementation Method

In this project, the various health parameters of the patient will be monitored and treated using sensors and Bluetooth module. It would be used in  rural areas as well as urban areas without doctor being present in person .The project is about patient health monitoring system. Especially, for High Blood pressure patient, Asthma patient, general diseases just like fever and environmental issues that are related to the patient just like toxic gases and humidity.

Benefits of the Project

•  Poor people in the rural areas can get health montoring and treatment at their door step with specialist Doctors from our proposed health montoring kit.

• Travel expense and time will be saved  from our proposed system becaause poor people can not afford the private transportation cost hence often they do not travel to the cities for health chackup.

• Proposed health monitoring kit supports many health features and it can easily upgraded with availability of related biomedical equipments.

• Its utilization is not limited rural areas only however this kit is also feasible for dense populated cities, hospitals, ambulances, home, old homes, jails etc.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

•In this project GSM module is used to transmit/receive the data to/from doctor.

•Arduino is used  to process the data taken from sensors

•The heart beat sensor senses the heart beat of the patient.

•The pulse sensor senses the pulses and blood oxygen level of the patient.

•The blood pressure sensor senses the level of blood pressure in the form of high, low and normal.

•The temperature sensor senses the body temperature of the patient.

•The moisture sensor senses the moisture of room. It will be helpful for the asthma patient.

•The data collected from sensors will be sent to the doctor by the help of GSM module.

•Doctor will see the patient’s data on tablet.

•This kit bag shall be used by a compounder or any knowledgeable person.
