Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryGesture controlled robotic arm using leap motion (Lebotica 1.0) is a non-prosthetic robotic arm which mimics the movement of the real human arm including indiviual finger movements and rotational wrist movement. The applications include any pick and place environment, hazardous environment and harsh/radioactive environment where real human arm can be damaged.
Project ObjectivesObjective of this project is to built such a non-prosthetic robotic arm that copies the movements of real arm to provide assistant and help to the people working in harsh/radioactive and hazardous environment.
Project Implementation MethodA leap motion sensor(include cameras and sensor to detect movement of real hand at real time-it takes 200 frames per second) is used to control the servo motors which are connected to the fingers through artificial tendon network to control the movement of robotic arm along with the a servo motor attached for the wrist movement.

servo motor attached inside the robotic arm having fishing braided lines as artificial tendon network which will contract and expand the movement of fingers. The whole system will be controlled through Leap Motion sensor and the controller is Arduino Uno
