Our final year project is focused on Fleet Management System. Fleet managment system is a system which helps institutions to manage vehicle fleets efficiently and effectively by providing features such as tracking, routing, dispatching, on-board information and security. The main purpose of the proposed system is essentially to automate the entire operation and information of vehicles. Our FMS consists of two basic aspects; FM Hardware and FM Software. The hardware consists of a OBD II tracking device (GPS) integrated with a microcontroller and IOT module. The software consists of an Android app and a secure server to store data. The possible applications of this project are continuous monitoring and real-time data logging, safety and security of vehicles and drivers, route management, tracking fuel bills, error checking. Many industries are currently using fleet tracking services such as courier and delivery companies, towing companies, trucking and transportation logistics, construction businesses, car rental and leasing companies and many more. It is a common scenario where a business manager would like to track the location of all the vehicles owned by the firm. While it’s not necessarily critical for fleet managers to know exactly how to overhaul hydraulic brakes or fix a leaky oil pan, understanding what those fixes require (i.e., cost and downtime) helps minimize negative impacts on the business.
The Sensors and devices in an automobile will be in communication with each other by CAN bus. The OBD II device will be extracting the data through the OBD II port and CAN from multiple cars. This OBD II device will be integrated with a microcontroller and IOT module by UART or SPI interface. The android application will be made using Android Studio and Flutter UI and XML. The android application cannot directly communicate with the server where the data resides, hence we will make use of an API (Application Programming Interface).

A complete fleet management system comprising of:
•A Tracking device integrated with an IOT module by a micro controller.
•An Android App showing real time data analytics, driver’s information, tracking, alerts etc.
•A Database comprising of a secure server.
•Demo of continuous data logging and analytics on multiple cars.
