Fashionable Social Robot
Social Robots have the potential to attract people and this capability can be used to develop robots that can come into the retail market and enhance visual merchandising.
This proposed project will investigates the important criteria to use in the design of a robot that can be utilized to promote customer appeal in the fashion industry.

Smart Mannequins is a novel robotic mannequin that can be developing with the consideration of professional showcase characteristics and a primary feature of interaction with people.
Since real and perceptive human–robot interaction relies on the social robot’s sensitivity to its environmental information, This robot will be able to localize the people around it.

In order to achieve a successful robotic mannequin, factors need to be taken into consideration to make it more attractive and acceptable to humans. In this regard, important factors regarding design, anthropology, movement quality, design
acceptability, affinity, likeability, etc. are considered.
Smart Mannequin will be capable to communicate with the smartphones of the clients inside the shop; a real communication tool, able to record purchase behavior, collect data and give a customized experience to the clients inside the store.
You just need to get near to a Smart Mannequin to start receiving proximity messages and information, analyses about the products, size and color availability, personalized offers, video presentation of the collection and much more.
An empirical test was conducted to demonstrate the robot’s acceptability and performance. In this test the robot was outfitted and placed in a showcase at an apparel store where prospective customer behavior was studied via a camera, microphone and questionnaire. The results indicate that Robot was able to increase the number of people who looked at the showcase by 280% during the day, which validates the idea of visual merchandising and sales enhancement.
