Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryAgriculture plays a very key role in the development of a country like whose quarter of its GDP is produced by agriculture. But in Pakistan farmers are still using the old conventional agricultural techniques for their farming and not taking advantage from the latest technology. There is not any online platform that provides farmers of Pakistan that which crop is suitable according to their soil, when to use fertilizer, about weather forecast and awareness of technology for farming. Due to unavailability of any platform, farmers take random decision based on their knowledge and most time this will leads them towards a loss.
The project is about to develop an android application using machine learning by which the above-mentioned problems can be solved. The problem of finding the right crop for the right soil can be solved if we provide a platform where we can recommend farmers that which crop is suitable according to your soil by taking some input regarding their soil. By using that platform awareness, weather prediction, fertilizer recommendation to farmers can also be provided.
Project Objectives- Design a mobile applicationĀ that primarily focuses on recommending farmers appropriate crops related to their soil.
- Give awareness to farmers that how they can use technology to improve the growth of their crop.
- Recommend weather forecast.
- Recommend when it is the right time to use fertilizer.
- To build application in dual language (English and Urdu).
- Create a farmer friendly application.
The project is implemented using machine learning at the back-end and an android application at the front-end. For crop recommendation a machine learning model is created and then that model is deployed on heroku server and from their application fetches the data. Similarly fertilizer recommendation and weather prediction is being done by using weather API's.

- Aware farmers that how by using technology they can increase their growth.
- Indirectly helps in increasing the GDP.
The final deliverable of the project is an android application which is being implemented using Unity. For crop recommendation a dataset is being collected from the Kaggle and then further machine learning techniques Data Mining, Data Preprocessing and Engineering, Model builiding and Model evaluation is being applied. For fertilizer recommendation and weather prediction data is being fetched from weather API.
