Project Area of Specialization Software EngineeringProject SummaryThis new web portal is the extended version of the already available website. The reason for its development is to provide a platform to all the users of different departments within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Sindh. The previously existing web-interface was happened to be used by the department of IICT only, moreover, this novice version of web-interface is now offering bifurcated web-address to each department of faculty, individual notices are supposed to be received, individual gallery to be entertained by the users, the online library for each department stating availability of books, thesis, and reports. For teachers, there is a different panel to which they can have their own portals i.e., their own user name and password and they will be able to upload any document of any type. The last significant feature of this web-portal is FYP (Final Year Project), this feature provides the list of each department’s project/thesis so that no can hesitate to avail this opportunity and feels so easy searching.
Project ObjectivesThe objective of this new web portal is to enhance and modify the old existing website, the old website was developed for the institute as our institute has now become faculty, and now there are multiple departments and institutes are present, so this new version of web-interface is now offering bifurcated web-address to each department of faculty, the data of each department is separate and can be maintained separately, the old user-interface was so troubling and perplexing as the user paid much of his time by dodging unnecessary stuff and instead of quickly reaching to its destination they had to stay and sort out significant things among the not-useful, it was my over-all emphasis and I kept this very problematic situation in mind while creating this new version of the existing user interface. The new user interface is modern and the ease is now at disposal where all the users of the faculty and visitors can have and enjoy whatever they exactly need to view in place of other diverging material.
Project Implementation MethodAgile Methodology will be used in the implementation of this project as this single webportal will be used by different users i.e departments, institutes at once, ease of all stakeholder is to be considered as the solution is to be reviewed by all users, so the changes are to be made and adopted during the development life cycle.
