FACE RECOGNITION BASED STUDENT MARKING SYSTEM is an Attendance System intended to manage the attendees. The software is customized for PAF-KIET however it can be replicated for any educational institute. It has generic features and the goal of the system is to maintain student marking, generate reports, update profiles, SMS alerts, and lecture recording. The benefits are compared to manual data entry and accurate and strict. This is a software that allows students to keep track of their attendance.

Project Objectives

The goal was to design and implement powerful, user-friendly, face detection attendance system software developed using Microsoft’s Dotnet framework, C#. It aims to be a fully functional and professional Attendance System that can be used by any modern higher educational institute to automate attendance, manage and control all day-to-day attendance markings.

Project Implementation Method

Our approach was based on the Principal Component Analysis with EigenFace to recognize the faces and for the detection, we used EMGU wrapper for the OpenCV Our team worked as a unit to reach the goals. The main reason behind choosing PCA with EigenFace was because it is free source and it gives more accuracy than the other API’s and as we talk about the video recording we used free source VisioForge API for High Definition video and audio recording for the lectures.
