Face recognition-based attendance system is a process of recognizing the students face for taking attendance by using face biometrics based on high - definition monitor video and other information technology. In my face recognition project, a computer system will be able to find and recognize human faces fast and precisely in images or videos that are being captured through a surveillance camera. Numerous algorithms and techniques have been developed for improving the performance of face recognition but the concept to be implemented here is Deep Learning. It helps in conversion of the frames of the video into images so that the face of the student can be easily recognized for their attendance so that the attendance database can be easily reflected automatically.
The main objective of this project is to offer system that simplify and automate the process of recording and tracking students’ attendance through face recognition technology. It is biometric technology to identify or verify a person from a digital image or surveillance video. Face recognition is widely used nowadays in different areas such as universities, banks, airports, and offices. We will use preprocessing techniques to detect, recognize and verify the captured faces like Eigenfaces method. We aim to provide a system that will make the attendance process faster and more precisely. The core problem is identified along with solutions and project path. Furthermore, detailed system analysis and design, user interface, methods and the estimated results are presented through our documentation.
The proposed system has been implemented with the help of three basic steps: A. detect and extract face image and save the face information in an xml file for future references. B. Learn and train the face image and calculate proper value and proper vector of that image. C. Recognize and match face images with existing face images information stored in xml. D. Store the name of the face displayed in Microsoft Access Database
Facial recognition technology is a system which is capable enough to verify the identity of a person from analyzing an image or video footage. Some of the technologies or software are so advanced that even blurred pictures are sometimes rendered enough and analyzed to know the identity of the person. So much are the advantages of this system that it would take a long article to note down each and every one of them. Everyone loves saving money, right?
Automated Attendance System using Face Recognition proposes that the system is based on face detection and recognition algorithms, which is used to automatically detects the student face when he/she enters the class and the system is capable to marks the attendance by recognizing him. Viola-Jones Algorithm has been used for face detection which detect human face using cascade classifier and PCA algorithm for feature selection and SVM for classification. When it is compared to traditional attendance marking this system saves the time and also helps to monitor the students
