Technology is impacting human lives a lot with day to day development. Google maps has helped a lot of people in order to find their desired places. But problem is that people fail to recognize places once they are at their desired location. However, google maps help us to reach our location with the help of its instructions but we fail to recognize actual buildings, routes etc.
Solution
For this we are proposing a solution to people coming Sukkur IBA University as they can easily recognize the places. With the help of visual positioning system we will provide people visual direction by using phone’s camera and augmented reality techniques.
This will be a very helpful suggestion system for new visitors of Sukkur IBA University as they will don’t need any guide or person to ask about places. And this will also be a technological innovation for Sukkur IBA University and its people.
A rudimentary calibration of the camera is required, consisting of both the intrinsic camera parameters and the extrinsic parameters, which de?ne the mounting point and orientationofthecamerarelativetothevehicle. There is no stringent accuracy requirement on this extrinsic calibration, as the algorithms are designedtocopewiththeadditionalpitchandroll angles allowed by the vehicle’s suspension. AscanbeseeninFigure1,consecutivecamera frames are ?rst recti?ed with the inverse perspective transformation calculated from the calibration data. In this sequence of recti?ed frames, ground plane feature correspondences are de?ned in terms of inter-frame rotation and translation. By demanding consistency in these transformation parameters over all feature pairs [2], the perspective transformation can be recalculated to re?ect the suspension angles, which in turn can be used to improve the inter-frame transformation estimate. The movement of the vehicle is simply the inverse transformation, andthe cumulative inter-frame movements form the elapsed trajectory.
Starting this project from Sukkur IBA it will provide convinice and assistance to visitors in terms of their acknowledgment to different buildings by just directing the mobile camera towards the subject. The mobile will provide directions through AR technology.
A visitor will launch our app, with the help of camera of smartphone we will direct him/her accordingly using walking navigation and augmented reality. Our visual positioning system will also tell the names of building and suggest him/her to visit its specific locations. Like if we take example of Academic Block 3 of Sukkur IBA University our app will suggest them to visit FAB LAB etc. using machine learning.
