Project Area of Specialization Shared EconomyProject SummaryOur project was undertaken in consideration to a very serious social and ecological problem i.e:- Growing Waste and Pollution ( Green House Gasses, seepage polluting underground water supply and plastic which is not biodegradable thus doesnot decompose and pollutes the soil) due to it. Energy from muncipal solid waste using Incineration is a technique to produce electrical energy from heat generated by burning the unrecyclable combustible garbage. The heat produced is used to heat the boiler to produce high pressure and temperature Steam. The steam generated is the prime mover for generating Electrical Energy.This Method also provides an alternative to Landfills for disposing waste by converting waste to biodegrable ash which doesnot produce any intoxicants within thin soil making it Eco-Friendly. This method insures a high output rate.
Project Objectives•To dispose the un-recycle able municipal waste.
•To use Waste as a source for generating energy.
•To propose an alternative to landfills.
•To reduce pollution created from unrecyclable waste and plastic.
Project Implementation Method1. Incineration of Muncipial Solid Waste .
2. Heating of boiler to produce steam.
3. Produced Steam To rotate ruder/turbine.
4. The turbine provides excitation to generator to produce electrical energy.
5. The ash ( leftover of burnt waste is then disposed ).
The step by step process is illustrated in the figure below:

1. It would provide an environment friendly solution to waste disposal problems as waste is increasing day by day.
2. The waste will be used to form electrical energy .
3. The waste in growing urban environments would reduce considerably reducing pollution .
4. The health hazards associated with waste will also be reduced.
5. Under-ground water supply would not be contaminated by seepage.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable1. Unrecyclable waste is incinerated at high temperature above 800 degree celcius.
2. The waste is converted to ash for disposal.
3. The heat generated is used to heat water in boiler.
4. The water starts converting to steam after 100 degree celcius.
5. To create super heated steam temperature is maintained to 122 degree celcius.
6. After the required temperature is obtained the steam valve is set to open .
7. The PT-100 temperature sensor sends the analog signal to arduino.
8. When the arduino receives it , it checks the temperature and the position of the valve.
9.When the temperature reaches 122 degree celcius , the valve motor rotates and opens the valve.
10. The steam runs the turbine at high speed to rotate the generator.
11. The generator when rotated produces 3 phase A.C voltage
12. The A.C voltage is rectified to D.C and then supplied to load through level (Doubler) circuit.
