Project Summary

EMO-MASK is an Artificial Intelligence and augmented reality based Andorid application that will detect human emotion in real-time with the help of Artificial Intelligence and express this emotion into an animated emoticon like Emoji, a Human character. The character will also do movement relative to the movement in the camera. The user will open the Application, the user will select a character on which he/she wants to express emotion. Then detects user emotion through the device camera. After detecting emotion, it will be expressed in the selected character (for example Happy emotion of the user will be shown by the character) and show movement relative to the camera. Users can also change the background of an animated character. There will also voice of that expression (like for happy give laughing voice).

Project Objectives

The main objective of product is to provide:

• An application that recongnize face emotions on basis of face expressions.
• Entertainment purpose application for childrens by changing characters and emojis on basis of face expressions.

Project Implementation Method

Firstly we will explore the existing applications related to our application.

The project will be implemented on Android Studio which is the integrated development environment for the Android operating system.

The User Interface Design of the Application will be implemented with the help of XML (Extensible Markup Language).

Other Functionalities in the application like Screen Recording and Background change will be done with the help of Java Language.

The backend of the application which is recognizing the Face emotion and conversion to Emoji or Character will be done with the help of Python Language.

In the End We will start testing the application to check if the the application is working properly and if there are any error to be resolved.

Benefits of the Project

The main role or application area of the EMO-MASK android app is to provide children an interactive and entertaining app. Entertainment is important in a children’s life. Without some sort of entertainment children will get dull and frustrated. Entertainment plays an important role in the upbringing process of a child. It helps a child develops his skills and help him learn new things. The app will be a rich source of entertainment for children.

Second benefit is that we will deploy this on Google play store and we will earn from the application.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable will be an artificial intelligence based Android Application (EMO-MASK) that will use the mobile camera to detect the face emotion of the user in real-time and with the help of artificial intelligence convert this detected emotion into emoji or selected character and relevant sounds will also be played. The Emo Mask application will also be able to record the screen of the mobile and save the recording and Users will be also to change the background of an animated character.
