The graduation/education certificates are issued by universities and other educational
institutions are among the most important documents for graduates. A certificate is a proof of
a graduate’s qualification and can be used to apply for a job or other related matters. The
advance of information technology and the availability of low-cost and high-quality office
equipment in the market have enabled forgery of important documents such as certificates,
identity cards, and passports. However, verification of certificates using traditional methods
is costly and very time-consuming such as calling university to show if the student certificate
is correct. Therefore, in this project we make an overview of university certificate, then we
propose a theoretical model that can offer a potential solution for academic certificate issuing
and verification using blockchain technology. The blockchain technology contains several
functions including hash, public/private key cryptography, digital signatures, peer-to-peer
networks and proof of work. The model various elements to formulate the block which is
divided into two main processes, namely issuing a digitally signed academic certificate and
verifying the academic certificate. The proposed model showed that we could use Ethereum
Smart Contracts to save the hashed data of certificates with their associated identification. In
addition, the results showed that this process is effective in terms of time consuming but it
still need to be enhanced.

Project Objectives

Our system can be used by anyone, the system will check students' certificates, where a
graduate's certificates need to be proofed, and the system aims prevent hackers or anyone else from make change in the certificate which certified by the ministry of higher education.

This project aims to build a common or in some case private platform for local universities, educational institutions, to attach all the data related to the academic certificates or experiences that will be used for verifying purposes. Finally, any participant Human Resource company or institute proofing will use our system to make sure that the certificate of any applicant is not forged through the website in this
regard and the document is confirmed certificate within seconds.

Project Implementation Method

The E-Certificate Verification using Blockchain project is based on Ethereum Network which will provide the functionality of Blockchain and the frontend is developed using React Js which is connected with the blockchain using Web3.Js. The project will provide the security and surerity of the Certification.

Benefits of the Project

This project will provide the security of the certificate data and the accessibility to verify the data which will increase the worth of the Certification and the Institute. The concerned can easily verify the data which will also save alot of time because this will be the automated system for the said process.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The project will Run on the Web Browser (Chrome , Edge , Opera etc) User/Admin can Login with the Credentials and a New User can SignUp to get the access of the platform.

Admin will be submiting the data on Blockchain which will be maintaining a network of Certificate data.

Then the verification process can be done by any person registered on the platform.
