We are embedding AR/VR technology in ecommerce that will change out shopping style. If someone did shopping through ETry Shop whenever they shop some produce they can also see the 3D visuals of the product.
Project ObjectivesBuild up a new marketplace where we feel free to use their services, AR and VR is new technology we use in this platform, like when we will buy a product we can see how the product looks like and user friendly, before buying the product we can take real time experience. For example, when we have to buy some items like jewelry, now using this platform we can take real time experience by using device camera that’s how the product look like.
Project Implementation MethodWe are making an ecommerce platform (Application) that provides AR visuals of the product that user want to buy, and user can see visuals of that particular product he is going to buy, for example if user want to buy a watch he can see visuals to assess how the watch looks on his wrist by clicking the specific button on the app screen with the help of the device camera. We call it Dressed Virtuality.
Now the question is how we will do this project? We are using vuforia development tool for the development of the AR visuals of the items and will develop 3D models of every product and bind it with the human body for providing the better experience to our users. We have multiple screens in this application like splash screen, item list screen, add to cart screen, order screen and product visual screen.
We are developing this project because over 80% of people all over the globe are shopping online and a huge amount of people are unsatisfied by their product experience because of quality issue, size issue and the overall satisfaction of the product. The user buys the product but gets confused about how the product will actually look like on their body. So, we are developing a platform that solves these kind of problems and increase reliability for the users.
Benefits of the ProjectTraditional electronic commerce (e-commerce) is limited, because it cannot provide enough direct information about products to online consumers. The technology presented in this paper shows how Augmented Reality (AR) can be used to help overcome the limitations and enhance e-commerce systems. The tool was developed as an Internet plugin, so it can be used on different kinds of computers and handheld devices. A usability experiment was conducted, to compare the developed AR e-commerce assistant tool with traditional e-commerce and Virtual Reality (VR) e-commerce systems. Results show that an AR e-commerce system can provide more direct information about products than traditional or VR e-commerce systems.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableAR is an emerging technology in ecommerce. E-try is inspired by DRESSX META CLOSET which consists of different dress styles using AR approach. This consists of different 3D dress models which user can see on their body and take photos and make videos. We are using the same concept in E-try where user can select desired dress that he wants to buy and see visuals on their body using device camera. Some popular brands already working on this AR technology like IKEA, Amazon and Nike.
