Well traditionally, the detection systems were only found in hospitals and were characterized by huge and complex circuitry, which required high power consumption.
In recent times several documentations have come up to address the issue of remote health monitoring but none have implemented to design a practical system, but this have a wireless detection system that sends the sensor information wirelessly to a remote android application. As the world is progressing such kind of system is a big need nowadays that not only store health status of every health caring person but also able to make as a healthy exercise to the people who cares about themselves.
Project Objectives- To increase the awareness for patients and will measures the health status for them.
- To have notification of SMS or email through GSM technology, when a patient’s health status will be below the average.
- To have the location of a patient through the GPS technology.
- To send measurements and maintain the log of every patient’s health status in the app with the help of Bluetooth i.e. which patient is recovering by analysing his/her daily readings etc.
Our E-Health Band (Remotely Health Status Monitoring Using Android App) is a (hardware + software) integrated system which provides various functionalities such as patient’s health status, notification through SMS or email; they can see their readings through LCD on the band just like a (smart watch). It will also send the measurements through Bluetooth, which will be connected to the android app.
All such functionalities would make us achieve our goal of ‘Person identification and notification System’ which would help reducing the issues for those patients who would like to avoid the long visits and stay in the hospital. The future scope of this project is to integrate more health measuring sensors in the system.
Benefits of the ProjectHealth band monitoring can provide useful physiological information in the home. This monitoring is useful for elderly or chronically ill patients who would like to avoid a long hospital stay and visits. Wireless sensors can be used to collect and sends the measurements of interest through Bluetooth and a processor is programmed to receive and automatically analyze the sensor readings. In this project you are to choose appropriate sensors according to what you would like to detect and design algorithms to realize your detection. Examples are detection of a human body temperature, monitoring heart beat or pulse rate of a person.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableAn E-Health band remotely monitor health status using android application. Using low-cost hardware sensors and component will be built in a band to make it health status band which could monitor your vital signs such as heart rate, body temperature etc. A band that can update and notify the people who are concerned even if they are far away by getting the messages, emails and location through GPS and GSM modules. If any kind of incident occurs the band will be able to notify the people whose contact numbers or emails are stored in the band. We will design an android app to act as remote monitoring system for the health band project.
