E-farm planning with estimation of ROI aims to provide farms with a system where the can easily organize and develop plans for their farms. This project is based on efficient planning principles which are essential in farm management.

• Plan the crop production effectively
• Avoid losses that result from poor fragmentation of land
•Compare the impact of any investment the farmer might make
•Examine how efficient the farmer is in planning crop production

Project Implementation MethodThe process model that has been used for developing this project was iterative software development methodology. Iterative software development does not take complete requirements specification to begin with. Instead it works with partial specification and builds and delivers application module-by-module. Further requirements are clarified as an application version developed in an iteration is completed. In development of this project, I worked on individual requirements and then integrated the system as a whole. After implementation, I did a verification process and from the results, I evaluated the performance. The loopholes and bugs were identified by this process, so I planned to remove those bugs and errors. And the same process is repeated until it becomes free of errors. So, at last, I deployed my project. Now, here is a full version of my project which will be under consideration for possible errors and omissions to be occurred and the whole process to be repeated.
Benefits of the ProjectAn E-Farm planning system with the estimation of ROI will give the farmers a platform to effectively plan the layout and the organization of their farm. This project will be based on computer graphics programming and algorithms to calculate the ROI. This system will provide whole integrated view of the farm thus allowing the farmer to plan the farm layout effectively. It will also keep track of all the costs of the plants. The user will first set the land dimensions, select the soil type and weather conditions, fragment the land according to best suitable soil conditions and fertile areas and then select the plants and place them on the desired position on the land. The system will then calculate the ROI based on the cost of land (given by the user), initial treatment cost (given by the user), price of each crop (from the database) and the annual projected income and profit. Once the model is built, the user can change the farm plan to see how it affects the ROI and then select the best plan.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe domain of this project is computer graphics. The technology used is OpenGl and the language used is C++. The main purpose of this software is to develop a system for the farmers with a simple interface where they can easily plan their farm. While developing such a system, there will be several limitations. The system will not be an online software and is designed for offline use, therefore the user cannot synchronize the data between multiple devices online. The user will have to input all the field and weather information manually. The calculation of ROI will not include fertilizers and pesticides costs, nor these will be planned for the plan. Water irrigation system for the farm will not be included in the plan. Labor and machinery costs and planning will also be not taken into consideration while developing this software.
